Well , let me just say upfront, please don't book this hotel, it looks nothing like the pictures here, what an utter disappointment, i went in looking for a deal, but upon arrival, the otel is not in what one might consider to be the greatest neighborhoods in Rome, you get thrown off when you can barely find the entrance to the hotel. Entrance requires that you push on the doorbell to be let into the building, that was my very first flag, building looked like it was an apartment building that had been partially converted to a hotel. It get more interesting, you have to walk up 2 flights of stairs, leaving your luggage on the bottom floor because the elevator was locked and required a key to access , this elevator was so small and only used to move luggage up and down. Yes be prepared to walk up and down each time you went to your room or out site seeing. We get to the room and the AC was not turned on to cool down the place on a 99 degree evening, was told at reception that AC was not included when we were checking in , had to cough up 10 Euros a day plus tax to be given the remote control to turn on the AC in the room . Then was advised that the advertised breakfast bar in the morning did not exist and would be credited 2.5 Euro for breakfast, breakfast in Rome cost at a minimum 10 Euros, this was a nightmare of a stay for my son and I and i truly wish we had read the more recent reviews by other client on this hotel. Hotels.com need to remove this hotel from it's options !

With summer on its rise, the heat made it impossible to enjoy the room with the window closed at night. With an open window, I was awoken by honking horns, loud people, sirens, and general random shouting. This accomodation needs to clean its mold, add air conditioning, and have a screen over its windows to prevent bugs getting in.

I booked this hotel. The hotel doesn’t have a lift for there customers . So struggling get up the stairs. The air conditioning you had to pay for it.The air conditioning was not working properly and was not blowing strong air to keep you cool. The property does not except cards. Had to pay in cash for tourist tax and air conditioning. The room doesn’t have a fridge. Ask to put medicine in there fridge. The hotel need to be renovated and stairs carpet was worn out. The toilet had flush issues and constantly made a noise. The shower is very small and was difficult to have a shower. Owner of hotels doesn’t care about about renovations. I hated my stay at the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying her because lift was only allowed for the staff, whom work in the hotel. The lift had a key access and was not allowed for hotel guest. I been to others hotels and they have lifts. The rooms have a fridge in. A prophet breakfast buffet. The breakfast wasn’t a buffet you only allowed 1 drinks, given a croissant and a toast in a plastic packaging. I paid £20.00 and was not ,given a good breakfast. I had pay extra money if wanted more food. Then hotel refunded 3 days back, as the restaurant was closed. The restaurant located was outside the hotel.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel Oriente. It is very well located and closed to the main attractions (walking distance from the Colliseum but there is also a metro not far from the hotel that is onty two stations from the Colliseum and a few stations from the Pantheon, Fountain of Trevi or the Vatican). You can also take the train from the hotel and will only one change to get to the Fumiciano airport so it was pretty convenient and saved us money from taking the taxi. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. The hotel is located on two floors of a building which seems old but the hotels rooms are clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast is included but do not expect a buffet style. It is served by the staff and not a lot of variety, mainly coffee/tea or hot chocolate and pastries. No fruits, or cereal or milk. But it was not a problem for us as it was enough to get us started for the day and we got some fruits at a supermarket just next to the hotel. I would definitely go back to this hotel if I get to come to Rome again.

We were a little disappointed in the area which was very noisy. The late night revellers seemed to join up to the early morning deliveries and traffic! Although the staff wereexceptionaly good the place was tired and dull and an outside area could have been made so much of instead of being a neglected courtyard just to keep the bins. We were chastised for not handing our key in one day,but were out to early and the 24hr reception was locked. However it was 4/5mins walk from a Metro station and that took us everywhere we wanted to go. Lovely trip shame about the noise and poor maintenance of building!

I would recommend this hotel if you are going to tour Rome and if you are looking for a cheap, comfortable hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was basic but fulfilled our needs and it was central to the attractions.

Bug! That summed it up for me. Your bedding, towels and toilet paper are rationed, so use sparingly. We have 2 adults and 3 children in our party so it was most certainly an issue. You are given 5 towels which must last 2 days. Bedding, although dirty, does not get changed. We also only received 2 rolls of toilet tissue every 2 days, which was hard with 5 people. The staff is helpful but can not nothing to help you. We noticed bites on our sons legs, but could not get spray or clean bedding, as it was under lock and key. Hotel is dark and gloomy.

Bathroom very small and shower tiny. Bed was hard. Had to lug our luggage up 4 flights of stairs. Walls were thin and could hear everything in hall and rooms next to us. Breakfast was included, but we only got to eat it once because they don't serve until later in the morning and we had tours we had to leave by 7am to meet. On plus side, the location was good and is close to a subway stop.

I was a little disappointed and leary when we first walked in and I can say it's not the best place we've ever stayed, but the room was clean, the staff were very helpful, and friendly. The bathroom had the smallest shower I've ever used and we felt like we were in a prison due to the need to have staff operate the elevator and the need to turn in your key every time you left the hotel. However, considering the area it was a good idea. It was very convenient to the railway station although I would still recommend a taxi. The coliseum was within walking distance and there were many nice restaurants and shops on the side street next to the hotel.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood was better than I would have expected that close to the main train station (Roma Termini). Small but comfortable room. A great value.

Good location in proximity to train station and metro but not a very nice area. Couldn't open windows due to noise and smells. Really bad smell from drain on floor in the bathroom. Breakfast was substantial. Staff were friendly but overall we were disappointed. We felt like we were staying in a box.

our initial impression of the hotel was nit to great, as it did not have a reception at the street level. however once we were inside the staff were very nice and helpful. the hotel had alot of original features, like the stone stairs and the cage lift. the hotel was a minute walk to the metro station. i would recommend this hotel foe a shorr stay in Rome
