Great Hotel. Super renovation bringing it back to glory days but modern. Sad the restaurant was closed while we were there.

What a great great place . Absolutely loved staying here. Came for an investors summit. And loved the place . Perfectly positioned if you want to get away. Deep in the ‘no body goes there zone ‘ of maloja . Near enough to St Moritz to matter . Highly recommend

A bit unpersonal but clean and perfect for XC skiing. Unfortunately the SPA was closed. This was a decision criteria for the hotel and hence I'm disappointed.

The owners will need to decide what they want this hotel to be. The partial renovation of this former truly grand hotel does not restore its former greatness at all and feels uninspired. The current green scheme, all the way to the vegetarian restaurant does not really fit the surroundings and seems half hearted. On the positive side: the rooms are spacious, great scenery all around and good restaurants can be found in the area too.

This is a historical hotel near St. Moritz located in a very quiet and peacefull area. The Double delux is comfortable and have a good size for a short stay. The restaurant is big but simple, we only had breakfast, but ist nothing special to recommend. The Wellness room is very small and not comfortable at all, we visit it only the first evening and decided better to go to ovaverva in St. Moritz instead. We stay 4 Nights and there is an offer in Engadin called hotelskipass where this hotel is in the list but they didn‘t make valid the offer as we have booked via ebookers. I found this not correct as the condición is to be more than one night in one of the Hotels listed not depending how much you pay. Nevertheless we enjoy our stay

The picture in their advert is of the Maloja Palace. But that's not where you end up being accommodated. In photo 1 is a photo of the Maloja Palace. It compares to their photographic shot in their Expedia Ad. (which shows a winter scene). Photo 2 is where they put you. It is appropriately call 'The Annex (Club House)'. It is a disgraceful misrepresentation. They say the building is an 'annex' to the main building. We maintain a client from overseas has no way of knowing they will NOT be placed in the Maloja Palace. The key card they give you is 'Maloja Palace'. Their account they give you is labelled 'Maloja Palace' but you are NOT in the main building they advertise. Further their information in the Expedia Confirmation says "The front desk is open daily from 7.30AM - 9.30PM" That is not true. We arrived for 4.00pm and no-one was there. A woman came from the other building eventually to let us in. Our TV was not working, but there was no-one on duty all afternoon and up to 9.00pm as promised to take any complaints or concerns. Then they had the hide to charge CH20 per person for a buffet breakfast with a extremely limited range of food. In all a disgraceful misrepresentation and one we feel Expedia should look into. We were told in the actual Maloja Palace (where we went initially to book in) that the whole summer is always taken up by an exclusive booking. A very disappointing experience.

The guy on reception could not have been more helpful and when I pointed out there was no coffee in the room he gave me his own personal jar. lots of room with large lounge/ dinner and separate bedroom. No food nearby though so you will have to drive to find something. The lodge is sign posted and completely separate so don't go in the main hotel which is rented out in summer.

We found that the hotel was not very child friendly. The staff were very nice, at least the younger ones, but the dinner menu was set and our 8 year old didn't like what was on offer. Thus we constantly had to go elsewhere for dinner. Also there were no childrens activities and you need a car to get around.

If you are looking for a snow filled area during Spring, then this is the place. However very deserted area which is far from the main town of St Moritz. A bus from the train station to hotel costs 11 francs per person and takes 1/2 hour.

Dinner not good like in a cantine and very costly (CHF 50.- per person) Bad service on reception. Could not book a ski lesson at the hotel. had to go out and look for my own, even if it was posted as a benefit at the hotel. Breakfast was horrible old and no coffe available cost CHF 25.- each (to heigh cost for a slice of ham and old chewing paste of eggs)

The Maloja Palace was a wonderful surprise. Our room was a suite which included a refrigerator, hot plate, kettle, sink and dishware. We also had a table and chairs, two couches and a nice TV with English, Spanish, Italian and German programs. The bedroom was comfortable although the mattresses are quite firm and we always bring our own pillows. The bathroom was very small, but lovely. The shower was hot and the tub was relaxing after a day of skiing. A hair dryer was provided along with hand soap, a vanity kit and a shower cap. The common areas of the hotel are charming, comfortable and intriguing. There are blown up posters and photos of the building's history all around which makes for a fun stroll through the corridors. Our one disappointment is the lack of information that the hotel staff could give us on basic things like riding the bus. We asked how much a bus ticket cost per person to ride into Sankt Moritz, and we were told "I think about 11 Swiss Francs". The ride is maybe 15 minutes, so this seemed too much. We drove everywhere since we could not get good information about bus lines and prices. They also were very little help when we asked about winter hiking and parking in the area. Our advice? Stay at the hotel, but do your research before coming to the area. The TI office wasn't much better. It seems the people in the tourism business of this area know little about being a tourist. :) We did not eat breakfast at the hotel because of the cost, but we ate in our room and prepared sandwiches from fresh bread and groceries for our lunches in order to save money in this expensive area. There was a small gym in the basement with a treadmill, some free weights, etc. We did not use the sauna b/c of the cost and our other interests.
