Convenient location for using as a base for exploring around Lake Maggiore if you have a car (free parking, but don't expect any lake views, it's on a main road with lots of big stores), while also close to Milan Malpensa Airport. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, room good standard. Breakfast good, although only a small proportion of it is self service (you have to ask for certain items). Spa available for 10EUR per person per day (from 5pm), however didn't try it. Hotubs on roof free and open most the day. Overall a good hotel to use a base.

There were bed bugs in our room (223). The hotel looked nice from the outside and lobby. It had good reviews and seemed like a good value. We were very surprised and horrified to wake up to several bed bugs in our bed and even climbingthe wall. The staff had difficulty communicating in English and since we knew almost no Italian, it was hard to communicate how troubling this experience was. It did not seem like the staff was unfamiliar with a problem with bed bugs there, but we could not be sure about that. It was then New Year's Eve and we had to scramble and find a different hotel for our last 2 nights in Italy. Th staff washed all our clothes at no charge and we left as soon as we could in the early afternoon. We lost at least a half day of sightseeing and were freaked out for several more days constantly inspecting everything. As soon as we arrived home in the US, we washed everything and threw away our shoes and luggage. It was quite a costly bad decision to stay at LePalme Hotel, so we can hardly recommend it.

Very positive experience. We stayed in a triple room for 2 nights in early November. Quick and friendly staff on check-in. Decent room size with walk-in closet. Good sound insulation and not distributed by traffic noise despite our room was fronting the main road. Free parking was a bonus. Location was convenient, just a short drive to lakeside towns and promenades along Lake Maggiore. Less than 30 minutes drive from Milano-Malpensa airport. Another advantage of this location was that, on a raining day, I could subsitute outdoor activities with indoor activities in Milan that was just 40 minutes drive to Molino Dorino subway station plus a 20 minutes subway ride to Duomo.

The hotel was good. The area however was a little bit run down and the parking was more of a public lot Overall decent stay. The receptionist was awesome and very helpful.

An excellent hotel, very comfortable rooms with balcony. Air conditioning worked brilliantly in what was a heat wave. Highly recommend. Only down side was a small shower space and location of hotel not the greatest but was walking distance to the lake, bit noisy due to train line behind hotel.

I got a double bed room for me my wife and my son 7 years old. The hotel Le Palme changed my room to a double bed and a single. That was a reasonable thing to do, since us three would not fit in just double bed. That was a very bad mistake from the Hotels.com which was aware of 2 adults and a 7 years old child. I am glad the Lep Palme fixed it and did not charge any extra.

We stayed at five hotels during a recent two-week trip throughout Italy, and Le Palme was our favorite! In fact, my fiance wanted to cancel our evening plans and hang out in the hotel room. The room was comfortable, clean, and beautifully furnished. We didn't realize that we'd have a little balcony, so that was a great surprise. Even though it wasn't exactly private, given that the neighboring rooms had balconies too and they were just a few feet away, it was nice to be able to step outside and to have the double doors open when in the room. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Not a good location for bus transport (hourly service) on a very busy main road walking to places not easy as no proper pavements! Arona more touristy easy access to ferries etc. "Red Beef" restaurant attached to hotel very good food, staff spoke English (2 courses with carafe of wine about 43 euros). Hotel staff very helpful, good breakfast (boiled eggs, fruit, ham, cheese, cereal etc) from 6am 'til 10am. Our first time in Italy in June/July not used to being bitten - take insect repellant, have been to Italy at least once a year for 24 years and never been bitten before. Very easy transfer from Malpensa Airport by Alibus, Dormelletto first stop, roads were very busy didn't hire a car as a certain well known Guide book suggested public transport, they were right about the heavy traffic, trains better than buses. English visitors in the minority in the area - very European, glad we spoke some Italian. Felt that Lake Maggiore not used to independent travellers more for organised trips. Tourist Info in Arona helpful but no planned trips to Borromean Islands Stresa/Baveno would have been a better location for visiting them as closer and more regular ferries( a hop on/off daily ticket from Arona cost 17.50 euros).
