My family of 4 stayed in ONE 15 Marina Sentosa Cove from 25-27 June 2022 in Hillview Room for husband's birthday. My mother-in-law joined us for the stay from 26-27 June 2022 in a separate and supposedly connecting room. We are not members of the club. The good: (1) Latitude restaurant buffet breakfast serves good smoked salmon and freshly made waffles. Shoutout to staff Royston who paid great attention to details. He made the two breakfast meals there very enjoyable. (2) Baby cot was prepared in the room per my request. Room was spacious. (3) Parking is in member's carpark, which is sheltered and easily accessible from room. The fair: (1) 3D2N family stay was for my husband's birthday. He received a box of four bite sized truffle chocolate for it. My toddler child received a dolphin shaped pop-it toy. (2) My room's privacy light was turned off in the evening. Upon exiting my MIL's next-door non-connecting room, we saw the cleaning staff at the threshold of our room with door opened, with no cleaning trolley. Both she and front desk said it is their practice to check on the room this way. We had never encountered this in other hotels. Rated this as fair as nothing went missing. (3) Room service truffle fries at $17.90 before GST was delicious albeit costly for the portion given. The bad: (1) Requested for connecting room in order to spend the stay as a family. Communicated months ago via email, with staff Delia confirming that the connecting room can be arranged. During my check in on 24 June, front desk staff Stephanie confirmed that the other room for check in on 25 June will be a connecting room. But lo and behold, this did not happen. (2) Subsequently, it led to a logistics nightmare. We had a toddler and a baby with us. Our luggages/belongings are mixed across occupants of two rooms. The number of times we knocked/press doorbell over two days far exceeded the total of the past year's. The cards were identical for two rooms. And we don't all have pockets. (3) Poor service recovery. Delia offered for us to change to Seaview Rooms, which have connecting rooms. It was a no-go for us because our luggages were unpacked with things all over the place when this suggestion came at 6pm. My toddler was already bathing. I was feeding my baby. My Soup Restaurant (from food delivery) had already arrived. Delia had the cheek to ask “Why do you all need a connecting room?” during the phone conversation with her to settle this matter. I found that insensitive and unprofessional. (4) No better alternatives offered for rectification. Delia told my husband over the phone that she'll provide discount for the next stay (value of discount not mentioned) and be there to welcome us in person when we arrive the next time. My husband, being a very nice person, even thanked her for it. Will they honor this? We'll only find out if we do stay in ONE 15 Marina Sentosa Cove again. (5) Check out is 12 noon. Received reminder call from front desk at 12.10pm as we were exiting the room. We spent another nightmarish hour packing cross-rooms with two young ones in tow. The call is a sign of a total lack of empathy.(6) Noise: Hillview rooms face the loading bay that has work going on from early morning. The room's close proximity to event hall made music and amplified speech audible from the room, even with windows shut and curtains drawn. (7) Check out: One of the front desk staff was aware of the problem. He said sorry, but it was the protocol-obliged verbalization of apology than an actual heartfelt apology. I had nothing more to say to him after that. Overall a disappointment. Luckily I was with loved ones, not work guests. The company of my family made up for ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove's lacklustre efforts and unpleasant experience.
