Quinta de Aldeia gave us the perfect opportunity to experience the Portuguese countryside, yet being only a few kilometers from the town of Ponte de Lima. The Quinta is set in a rural area in an old stone manor within a vineyard; and adorned with beautiful trees and flowers. We stayed in the stone cottage with one bedroom and a kitchenette, and woke up to fresh air and chickens clucking. The owners did not speak our language, English, but communicated with kindness and hospitality. We were greeted with a basket of fresh bread, cheese, ham, milk and tea and coffee and a bottle of the vintners sparking wine. And each day fresh bread was hung on our door. The rooms and grounds were immaculate and adorned with tasteful furniture, linens and pottery of Portugal . We knew we had found a special place to spend a few days. Don’t miss out on a wonderful meal at Eido do Bispo, or excellent sourdough bread and pastries at A Antiga padaria, just a few kilometers away.

Very nice property, located in a country area surrounded by farms. The property was beautiful and well kept, and the restaurant was great. Staff was wonderful. The only drawback is that it’s not near anything else, so you’ll need to drive 20-25 minutes to a store or other restaurants.
