-air conditioner is a bit small for the size of the room making it a little warm inside the villa. (twas cold at night tho)-TV was placed awkwardly; The wall blocks the view from the bed. (not too big of a deal though)- the shower is so old that the water only goes out in a few holes. (makes shower a challenge)-foam and beddings are not as nice as the other resorts of its kind but it will do the job to have a comfortable sleep.-they lack light. Yes, it is a bit dark, bahay kubo or bali style. Nonetheless, I would still recommend the sunset villa for it is spacious, comfortable, and its location in the resort. The staff did not fail me as well! (the staff is always a big factor on how I like service-provided businesses, and I would say they are one of the bestest.) giving us a ride to the doorstep of our villa with their own “tuktuk”, providing me a wifi repeater after I was not able to connect to their internet, how they accomodated requests in the restaurant; And speaking about the restaurant, their food is great (a bit pricy though)! Though we only tried the food in the free breakfast buffet, there were a variety of options and they all taste good. The outdoor amenities are also worthy to mention, the swimming pools, billiards (tho I wasn't able to try it as I didn't get to find the balls haha, but you can try to ask), playground, outdoor chess, and the private side of the beach. How I wish theres a resort like this in boracay, with the same price.*I was not able to take pictures of our villa, but the provided pictures in traveloka are accurate. We had the most relaxing stay, the staff was so accommodating and warm. The food was great.

We really enjoyed our short stay. The kids love the pool. The food is great. Highly recommended.

Child friendly hotel. 2 pools, a playground and swings along the shoreline. Though kiddie pool with slide was closed. Food is good especially their lomi!

I thought matabungkay beach is one of the best hotels in lian.. sad to say not. we check in last sun (apr 7 ) and the receptionist said our check in time is 2 pm. we wait until 2 pm but unfortunately, we check in at 4:00 pm. (wasted time)! when we arrive at the room, no available towels, no slippers, no blower, no rug! then we call the front desk and told us its on the way...but then again... we wait!

We have a very pleasant stay. The staff was friendly and helpful especially the front desk and the room service. However, I'm not so happy with the restaurant service.

We checked into a family room which is very spacious. I have a minor issue which is their bathroom, it doesn’t have a bidet. Their food is pricey and whenever we get the bill at their restaurant there’s always a mistake with the bill because of the PWD ID that my son has. I always present his ID before ordering and the discount is not being honoured and if I tell them about the ID again that’s the only time they will redo the bill. I think their staffs are not aware of PWDs/Senior Citizens discounts. Overall my kids enjoyed our stay there.

We enjoyed our stay here at Matabungkay Beach Resort. Staff were all nice and cheerful. Food at their restaurant was also good and not that expensive compared to other resorts. The room was clean and big. Location was fine. It’s just that the beach is high tide at the moment of our stay so we barely went there to swim because we have our daughter with us. Overall ratings from me to this resort is 5 out of 5. We will be back here next time!
