Upon arrival, before even a Hello, the front desk girl said there would be a 50 ringgit refundable room deposit as well as an additional 10 ringgit hotel tax per day. For budget travelers, this is an unwelcome surprise. I believe this tax should be included in the total you pay for the room, not a separate surprise fee. Their listing on the app site says they serve breakfast and the room has hot water showers. When I inquired about the morning breakfast, they quite confidently told me that they don’t serve breakfast. I told them that the hot water was barely warm and they didn’t seem to care. Upon checking in, they give you a very awkward plastic box that contains the room air conditioner and tv remote along with the room key. And as long as you return these items at checkout, you receive your 50 ringgit deposit back. Very odd. The front desk staff wasn’t very helpful. I actually went to one of the other nearby hotels to ask about s driver and sightseeing. This staff was wonderful. But the Clover staff could use some customer service training. I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. They never cleaned my room once. Never offered. Strange. The location is also in the middle of nowhere. The nearby restaurant selection isn’t very good. The waterfront is a short walk away and is pleasing for a few minutes. But this side of Port Dickson really has nothing to offer. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this hotel for any reason.
