Lokasi masuk jalan tidak jauh dari pinggir jalan raya, membuat kita bisa beristirahat bebas dari kebisingan. Untuk menuju Jam Gadang hanya berjarak sekitar 500 meter saja berjalan kaki. Kalau mau melihat keaslian kuliner Bukittinggi, bisa jalan kaki lewat Pasar Bawah, pasar tradisional yang otentik dan menyenangkan bagi pejalan santai.
