This is our third time at Mari del Sud in the past six years, and unfortunately, we’ve noticed it’s slowly declining. It’s a pity, because the resort has such great potential, so close to the sea and the beautiful Sabbie Nere beach and head a beautiful swimming pool. One major downside is the lack of a transfer service from the harbor to the hotel. We had the service during previous stays, and most hotels and resorts on the island of Vulcano still offer it. Although the receptionist said the hotel is walkable, I wouldn’t recommend it if you're traveling with elderly people, as I was. We ended up having to call a taxi for both directions, which cost €15 each way. Breakfast is good and the staff do their best, but the number of waiters is insufficient for the volume of guests. The swimming pool opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m., so if you're an early riser or looking to unwind after an excursion, it’s disappointing to find the pool closed. Housekeeping cleans the rooms daily, which is appreciated, though again the limited number of staff means your room might be serviced late in the day, often when you're back for a siesta. I really hope Mari del Sud will go back being the resort everybody used to love.

I have stayed at this place twice. I will be again. It’s peaceful and nice. Love the pool and the beach few steps away. The rooms are airy and pretty.

Beautiful grounds with a view of the smoking Vulcano, absolutely stunning. A fantastic pool and beautiful black beach make this a really fun hotel. The service is fabulous, the staff really cares about making your stay comfortable.

Outdated resort, no one takes care of it, very dirty compared to the resorts near by, very expensive, does not worth the value of the money, horrible bar/restaurant, breakfast was awful. Very dissatisfied with everything except the transfer service.

The hotel is in a great location however, we were highly disappointed by the cleaning standards especially during covid times. We were given a triple room even though we asked for a double, the bathroom was dirty with hair stuck on the wall and used shower gel, really not what you expect from a 4 star resort.The next day someone came to clean, so I couldn’t shower that night, none from the staff was wearing mask or gloves as part of covid measures. Very disappointing experience, I come in Vulcano every year but won’t return to this hotel and I don’t recommend it.

The resort is quiet and peaceful and has all the amenities you need. It was great to be close to a beach and have access to onsite massages. The rooms are very clean and have beautiful tile floors.

Location is very good just that’s about it. Hotel is a bit run down and for sure this is not a 4 star hotel. Service is not good neither. Overall I wouldn’t stay there again.....

Great place to relax and unwind The island is relatively small so you can walk to most parts the climb to top of the volcano is best done in the early morning as the route gets hot during the day

Bellissimo Hotel. Bellissimo il giardino, le camere, la piscina e la posizione dell’hotel molto vicino al mare.

Rent og pænt hotel - tæt på stranden, hvor man skal betale for liggestolene. Personalet er meget venlige og servicemindet. Poolen er ren - uden klorvand. Dejlig have med liggestole og udendørsbruser. Morgenmaden får 10 stjerner. Der er noget for alle - og fadene fyldes hele tiden op. Vulkano er en lille men hyggelig ø.

Séjour formidable en famille à l’hôtel Mari del Sud sur l’île de Vulcano. Le personnel est adorable, le restaurant le soir est très bon et l’hôtel est très bien situé.

È la seconda volta che torniamo in questa struttura e siamo felici dell’esperienza. In generale, ha il miglior rapporto qualità-prezzo dell’isola, è ben collegata ed offre una bella vista sul porto ponente. Unica pecca: il rooftop vista mare è sempre chiuso. Struttura consigliata

Non si può certo pretendere condizioni impeccabili alla fine della stagione, con forte vento e pioggia perdipiú. Preso atto di questo, camera spaziosa e luminosa, climatizzata, con patio dedicato e zona relax, buona e variegata la colazione, personale gentilissimo e collaborativo. Ottimi i servizi e la posizione. Lo consiglierei a chiunque

En raison du mauvais temps les compagnies ont annulé toutes les liaisons maritimes vers Vulcano (liberty lines, siremar), le directeur de l'hôtel a été contacté à plusieurs reprises, la situation expliquée, toutes les navigations étant supprimées. Un contact avait été fait la veille avec l'établissement dans le cadre normal de la venue. Malgré ce cas de force majeure, a refusé de rembourser pour cette prestation non accomplie. Démontre que les touristes sont des usines à pigeons. À ÉVITER VOIRE À FUIR. Vous serez avertis en tout cas si vous rencontrez le même problème qui semble être fréquent avec les annulations intempestives des ferry!
