This was a lovely, quiet, peaceful place to stay. Our family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) stayed here for a night during our quick stop in Obidos and we are so glad we chose it. Super clean, lovely front desk person, comfy room. The breakfast the next morning at the castle (an extra charge) was delicious and such a nice treat. Highly recommend!

It is a nice hotel to stay but due to its old history I suggest to use humidifiers and something to kill the smell of moulds in the bedroom

Perfect location and Interesting historic property in the walled City- rooms are comfortable but there is no elevator and no one at the property after 10 pm . the breakfast/ coffee area is self serve and was quite untidy the morning we went down.

Staff was wonderful, location was excellent, the free bottle of wine was very much appreciated. They said breakfast was not included, but in fact, there was coffee, tea, and a few pastries. The hotel's recommendation to leave our luggage with the vehicle, outside the city walls, and just bring a backpack with overnight necessities made our visit much simpler.

I took a bus from Lisbon to Obidos. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the bus drop off point. Though it was not an easy walk as the road isn’t flat. Recommend that you avoid bringing big luggage. While the hotel is within walking distant from the shops and restaurants and everything you need to see in Obidos, it is not at the main street from all the restaurants so you don’t hear much noise at night (a bonus for light sleeper). The only suggestion I have would be an upgrade of the bathroom. Other than that, everything else was fine.

Great staff! The hardest part was figuring out where to check in , since that was not specific in our reservation. Overall I recommend the hotel , great staff , breakfast buffet was excellent as well!

Would not recommend the hotel. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and the location was very convenient to the town. On the negative side, there is no parking and I had to figure out that myself. Also, you have to carry your bags up a steep, slippery slope and stairs. The worst part was that the room had a terrible smell of mold and mildew which seems to be prevalent throughout the hotel. You would think they would have figured that out by now. My wife says you get what you pay for but in all of my many years of travel, I have never smelled a room that bad. The least they could have done was provide some air freshener.

I loved the decoration and cleanliness of the room. And didn’t like the lack of staff and service. Also, they told us when we arrived that there was going to be breakfast in the morning and there wasn’t any. Not even coffee. There was only tea and no tables and chairs to sit.

No coffee making facilities in room. Coffee was available in the former breakfast area the first morning but not the second. Selection of teas and small cake. Well located within city walls.

Amazing location and amazing staffs

It was wonderful to be inside the castle walls.

Walked up from the train station. Beautiful location. Initially confused as to where lobby/ check-in is located because of so many Pousada Vila Obidos signs, but once we located the proper entrance, our experience could not have been better. Pedro is an excellent employee, giving us suggestions, answering questions, seeing us walking along the street and ensuring we were doing well later in the day. Walking along the top of the wall is so fun and you must try a ginja!

It was a charming old place inside the wall. Literally steps to everything. The acient walls and its history, its worth the visit. The hotel is super clean and steps to good restaurants.

Beautiful hotel inside the wall right at one of the side entrances. Beautiful lobby area with outside patio, beautiful room with excellent bedding and remodeled bathroom with window facing the tower wall, x el lent breakfast buffet. Hotel gives you access to tour the tower palace since it belongs to the same group. They also offer a shuttle to the train station. The bus stop is only 7 minutes walk to hotel
