Maryculter House is a fantastic historical hotel with fantastic festures. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Brilliant restruant for both breakfast and dinner. The setting alongside the river gives a grest view. It was our second visit there and would definitely use again.

The most amazing hotel in an equally amazing setting. From the river running past the bedroom window to the cosy log fire with the beautiful stag head above it, every detail was perfect. The décor was beautifully in keeping with the surroundings, with fly rods and antlers adding to the character and charm. The rooms were well equipped, the bed was super comfy, and everything was spotlessly clean – 10/10 for cleanliness. Breakfast was outstanding and the perfect start to the day. A truly special place that we can’t wait to return to.

We booked Marycutters House at random; visiting family who live near by and it is LOVELY. Clean rooms that are brilliant if you have a dog, lovely breakfast and kind staff. We were also pleasantly surprised to find it had an EV charger for our car!

An interesting location with historic buildings but it was generally let down by basic standards. There was nothing terrible but it wouldn't have been difficult for everything to have been done better. There was obvious dust, hair and mould in the room. Serving at breakfast was a bit inconsistent, things like coffee not being refilled and food items forgotten. Staff were also noisy in the corridors and also tried to enter the room despite do not disturb sign being on. Also for those who care about this they do not accept AMEX.

The room was lovely, very clean and just all round nice. The bathroom was outstanding with the loveliest of baths. The staff were very polite and courteous with one member of staff going above and beyond his duties. Tom, not only cooked the most delicious breakfast, but he also cleared inches of snow off our car so we could get on the move, safely. The night before, we also got chatting with one of the waiters at dinner. He was a lovely gentleman too. Nothing was too much for them. Amazing service all round. My only negative point is that I believed I was booking a room with a four poster bed. This was a Christmas gift for my partner. However, it turns out that the four poster room, no longer has a four poster bed. This was definitely a disappointment as that was one of the reasons I booked out stay there. I feel that the photos/description should have been updated with this as it is somewhat misleading. Fortunately though, everything else was perfect.
