Our stay was fabulous! Travelling with our son and his wife, the four of us could not have asked for a better experience while staying at the Glengarry Castle Hotel - peace and tranquility amongst beautiful surroundings. Yest just a short (about 15 min) drive to Fort Augustus for shopping, restaurants and amenities. The hotel had a calming effect on all of us, especially when we relaxed on the rear terrace with a cocktail overlooking the view of the mountains and Loch Oich after a long day of touring nearby. The hotel allowed us to feel engaged with nature, while taking in several stunning sunsets. It was exactly the medicine we needed and more than we hoped for. The area has plenty of charm and character, friendly people, and easy access to nearby villages. Overall, the Glengarry Castle Hotel is 5 star, very well appointed and has all the amenities you need. We'll be returning! Deric

delightful stay with a lovely staff. the food is excellent. the common areas before hand with a fire and a cocktail before dinner are so enjoyable. the decor itself is outdated, but honestly it adds to the charm. the rooms are very spacious.

For a building from mid nineteenth century, it's in good shape. Small but adequate rooms. Rural and quiet but with good WiFi. Excellent ample food and service. Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for breakfast is superb. We booked 7 months in advance.

Glengarry Castle Hotel is definitely an amazing place to stay. It's like the haunted mansion without the cobwebs or singing ghosts. In some ways it's a little dated, but then that's its appeal. You feel like you've been transported back in time. There was a radio on the table in our room and I kept expecting it to give war news. It's also special because the ruins of a much older castle are on the same grounds just a short walk away. We ate at the hotel and I thought the meal was a little pricey for what you got, but it was very good.

Such a beautiful hotel! The building, the grounds, and the rooms are all breathtaking. Nice range of activities from enjoying the library, to a walk on the grounds, to rowing around the loch or fishing it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The views are outstanding. The staff was helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful place. Decor suits the castle. Lovely to walk around ground. Beautiful scenery. Shame I didn’t have room with the view. Clean. Modern tv. Food outstanding but pricey. Lovely helpful staff. Can’t fault it. But water bottle in the room would have been nice.

Tremendous building in a stunning park setting by the water. Wonderful staff and excellent breakfast. We spent several hours in their salon reading and looking out over the gorgeous scenery. Highly recommend this hotel.

Check in was friendly. Hotel seems a bit dated and could use some tlc but it is a beautiful 160 year old hotel. The food and service were both impeccable. Nice walking trails down to the loch and along the shore though beautiful flower bushes to the ruins of a castle. Very pleasant evening

We absolutely loved our stay here. The staff was beyond welcoming and made us feel like it was our home away from home. The property was absolutely magical and the location couldn’t have been better being as though it was very close to so many prime sites. The food was really beyond our expectations and the best meal we had while traveling through Scotland. the rooms could be updated a little bit, but besides that there no complaints.

Another return visit and another flawless stay. They get it right here, the arrival, the attention, the ambiance, it’s the attraction. Then there’s the rooms, spacious, comfortable and well presented. The restaurant is intimate, friendly and fairly priced. The public rooms are welcoming, warm and well furnished. These rooms are a great place to relax, read a book, have afternoon tea, have after dinner drinks. Ramble the grounds, try your hand at tennis or fishing. If the weather obliges sit outside with a drink and take in the scenery. We love this place and always want to return!

We had the recent pleasure of staying at Glengarry Castle Hotel in Invergarry. In our opinion it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment we walked through the gigantic doors we were greeted with the warmth and hospitality of Scotland’s past. The staff at the hotel was exceptional, professional and friendly. The hotel itself is so charming -- the lobby, lounge and library exude elegance and sophistication of Scotland history. Our room was clean, spacious and tastefully, historically decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was bright and clean and a nice size. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed a walk to the Invergarry Castle ruins. One of the highlights of our stay was the breathtaking panoramic view from our suite that overlooked the loch. It was simply mesmerizing and peaceful, especially during sunrise and sunset. The hotel’s lounge and library were the perfect spots to unwind with a nightcap in front of a roaring fire. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel multiple days and each were excellent and exceeded our expectations in both service, quality and deliciousness. During our stay we did day road trips from the hotel and we always looked forward to returning to relax in the lounge with a drink and reflect on our day’s adventures. If you are visiting the Invergarry area, we highly recommend Glengarry Castle Hotel for an unforgettable experience.
