Had a great stay in Hostel Villa Kemi. We stayed the apartment which was a great size for a family, in an excellent location in Kemi and had everything we needed for our stay.

Everything was easy, and the whole process of checking in and out was a breeze. No pressure that made the stay convenient as we are then able to explore more of the area. Very near the VR station but if you are carrying heavy luggage, it's best to take taxi as it's slippery and hard to pull on the melting snow. Near grocery stores and 15mins walk to Centre for Restos. The Hostel is complete, can cook freely at the kitchen ( tho kitchen needs atleast monthly deep cleaning just to avoid getting sticky) Common area is big space with a nice frozen sea view, relaxing. Was apprehensive to book shared space but with its price, it has offered more than expected. Highly reccommended for budget travelers!

We don’t have hostels in the US- people are different there. It’s nice to share a space with people from around the world and see how respectful they are of the host, other guests and the facilities. Great prices. The top bunk is tiny to get into- as an adult and more challenging to get out of.

Worst hostel experience. We booked a room with 3 beds for 3 people, and were assigned to a room with 2 beds. When the customer service finally picked up they were very casual about it, saying that it’s not the first time it happens and that it’s an Elixpedia bug that lets people book 3 bed rooms when they’re actually 2 beds. In the end they told me by phone they had an extra bed by the elevators, so we took it into the room. We unfolded it and to be honest the small room was quite cramped with the 3 beds, but the worst part was that the bed was not stable, it moved and squeaked at my every movement, I think it was broken. Apart from that, it was the dirtiest hostel I’ve been too. There are hairs and dirt everywhere in the bathrooms - floors, showers, bathtub, you name it. As if it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks, with this many people sharing bathrooms you need to clean them more often. To top it off, many things were “out of order” - the elevator was out of order, one of the saunas was out of order… We paid 387€ for 3 nights, honestly it’s not expensive but it wasn’t cheap either, we were just expecting at least to have some cleanliness and comfort.

Beautiful location and very comfortable stay managed by a wonderful couple :)

Toilets and showers were not provided in the rooms and the shared toilets were dirty.

Really nice small hostel in the centre of Kemi. Showers and toilets are at the corridor, but everything is really nice & clean. Everything works on key codes. Parking is free outside on the street. Big breakfast room and there is a small fridge in every room.
