The Hoxton is a lovely property, very clean and professionally staffed. It is also quite the vibe in the lobby, with a lot of traffic from non-hotel guests eating and socializing and, unfortunately, getting in the way. Not my thing, but maybe it’s yours so not necessarily a negative.
The first of two definitive things that were objectively negative were the bathroom walls being glass - not see through at all, but light conducive. Each time we needed the bathroom at night, we’d have to light up the whole space to use it, and the worst of it is that the light was by the front door, so even if the walls weren’t glass, you’d need to open and close the door twice and let the light wake up your partner. Not ideal. Other than that, lovely bathroom. Clean, stylish, great shower.
The second was the air conditioning or lack thereof. We were in Paris when it was very hot (32-34C) and our room was consistently very, very warm. Regardless of how low we set the AC, the room temperature was uncomfortable. I doubt it dipped below 25-26. For this reason alone, we wouldn’t stay again.
Very nice staff, well-maintained hotel, nicely located with regard to public transit and restaurants. If you’re an extrovert who likes it on the hot side, this is the property for you.
