What a wonderful hotel Englands Gate is. Lovely and friendly staff, good rooms, great service and food was also very good!

Room not properly stocked with tea bags etc Dust on stand and skirting boards. Door would not open fully as got stuck on the floor. Two single beds but not a lot of room to manoeuvre around banged legs on it. kitchen at breakfast - there was no butter 2nd morning and lack of mugs. There were coffee perculators but no coffee to brew only small instant for cups. Food in restaurant- ceasar salad was a big disappointment, chicken overcooked and salad not right leaves for ceasar salad. However staff in bar very good. No contact details however to let them know about the breakfast room as pub not open until 12 noon. Pub had no access to a mobility toilet

No ventilation when temperature was 32c. Room had not been cleaned very well-only breakfast available was continental on shared long table.

Really lovely place to stay. Friendly bar staff on arrival who sorted check in. Room was clean and well equipped for our stay. Breakfast was continental and self service in a breakfast room- well equipment, fresh choices and very clean. Lovely character to the building , nice quiet road Definitely recommend

It was very hot.windows were closed no curtains closed to stop the heat , the room was very hot and we didn't have a good rest .

Our room was small but lovely, with a very good shower and lots of clean towels. The continental breakfast was plentiful and shared with other guests in the breakfast room. All the staff we met were friendly and polite, treating locals and guests with the same respect and courtesy. Our evening meal was delicious, with tasty vegetarian options as well as lots of meat/fish on offer and the draught cider was especially welcome in the heat! We found this place by chance but we definitely enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again.

Sadly visited during the peak of the heat wave, the place is not set up for such temps, plus the kitchen had to close also due to the weather, so can't write a bad review, as a rule it is spot on.

Lovely little pub that we stayed in for a wedding that was just down the road. Nice breakfast items in the morning and generally fantastic value for money!

Positives, Staff amazing ,food very good Price for one night excellent. Negative Wifi was not working The phone in the room had lots of dust on it.Breakfast had no cows milk or butter in the fridge as this was self service, l ended up not having much breakfast as the two thing you require for breakfast was not available bit dissapointing

Good stay, nice beds and I slept well, the underfloor heating would be lovely on a colder day but felt a bit much in June. Great acconmodation for exploring the Welsh Marches.

I stayed for a night with my partner recently and we were very happy with how kind and helpful the staff were, the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the dinner we had at the adjoining pub! We would definitely stay here again 😊

I had a lovely stay at Englands Gate Inn coachhouse. the staff were really helpful and were accomodating of my visual impairment. Breakfast was good. the meals were lovely. i'll be back again. the room was also very comfortable and spacious.

The accommodation was clean and spacious. The decor is quite dark, but probably because of the dark beams. The welcome in the pub wasn’t great, we weren’t acknowledged whilst standing with our bags in the pub. I understand the stafff are busy, but a simple’hello, we’ll be with you in a minute’ would be nice. We didn’t see any members of staff as the breakfast is a completely self service buffet. On the whole we would have felt more welcome if somebody had appeared at some point eg maybe when you return the key, rather than in a basket in the kitchen area.

The room was lovely, very clean and quiet. The pub food was good as was the ambience. The help yourself basic breakfast was disappointing, there was no fresh milk to have a cereal with and no butter.
