We arrived at a pretty packed lobby since it was the holiday season. The receptionists were super busy yet quick in handling the arriving guests from outside of Malang (us included). They greeted us warmly and asked us about our booking info. Unfortunately, while I requested a king-sized bed for our family on the app beforehand, they said all the rooms with the bed were full so we would be given a room with twin beds joined as one to accommodate my kids. We accepted the offer with disappointment, though we completely understood the holiday season.
Our room had a pool view, quite fun to enjoy. However, they didn't have a nook or sofa by the window, so we moved the sofa in front of the bed to the window to relish the view (the night view was exquisite) and to expand the space for movement. The room itself was not soundproof, so we could hear our neighbor next door dragging a sofa at midnight (which awakened my baby son). The room also had no towels so we should ask the housekeeping staff to grab some for us. We could also request additional water bottles (IDR15,000 each) when we needed more.
What I enjoyed the most was the restaurant. They had plenty of choices for our breakfast, from Western to Indonesian cuisine (they even had a noodle booth to cook directly!). We tried everything we could indulge and everything was delicious. The staff also surprised us with a morning dance to entertain the guests while they had their breakfast. My favorite was the salad since they provided boiled red beans, something I rarely found in other hotels.
What was super unexpected was ants in our room. I left some food for my baby son to eat since he slept earlier the night before, yet ants visited the food earlier in the morning. I didn't know where they came from but it was pretty much annoying since I have never experienced anything like this at other hotels.
Overall, foods are great, but rooms can be improved. Thank you for having us, Harris!
