We enjoyed a good night’s sleep, which is what we needed on our road trip around Iceland. The cabin was spacious and comfortable after it was heated. The property is located 6 miles off route 1 in a secluded location.

Nice room however it appeared they were modular put together. The heat was blazing when we went in the room. I turned off the heater and opened the window. With the window open all night at 6 degrees C outside the warm was still plenty warm in the morning. That was really the only issue we had. Slightly overpriced..

Avoid This Property – Inaccurate Location & Completely Unresponsive Our experience booking this guesthouse was incredibly frustrating and wasted a massive portion of our trip. Inaccurate & Misleading Location: The physical address listed on Expedia is completely incorrect and does not actually lead to the guesthouse. Furthermore, the map location pinned on the app is highly misleading. Because of these inaccuracies, we wasted a couple of hours of precious vacation time just driving around in circles trying to find the property. Absolutely Zero Communication: Trying to get help was a nightmare. We reached out multiple times via email and tried communicating through Expedia support, but received no response. To make matters worse, we called the provided phone number repeatedly and no one ever answered. Being completely stranded with a wrong address and a host that ghosts you is unacceptable. Save yourself the stress, wasted fuel, and lost hours - do not book this property.

The shower was poor as we had to press it every 30secs and couldn’t control the temperature. Hot water kettle is provided with coffee mugs but no coffee. Biggest of them all, the room was quite warm, shutters had holes in them allowing light throughout night and couldn’t sleep.

The property appeared newly renovated and was very clean. The staff were very friendly and we had a nice dinner (fish soup was excellent) and really enjoyed playing cards in the dining hall when we finished our meal. The dining hall had a wonderful playlist and some beautiful artwork of the mountain range to the east, which really created a relaxing atmosphere after a day of traveling. We would stay here again.

Great stop between destinations. Not much around it and a long gravel road to access it. Close to the Vok Lagoon. Spacious room for a family and the unit has a kitchen and a separate bedroom.

Very prominent smell in room that was very bothering. And hot water ran out within 5 mins of running shower.

The family cottage we stayed in was nice; it was clean and had a nice couch and sitting area. The small kitchen was also very useful for making an early breakfast, since we left before the complimentary breakfast was served. The only detractor is that this place is very far from Egilstadir. The drive is on miles and miles of bumpy gravel roads to get there - at least a half an hour from Egilstaddir. I recommend any traveler ensure that they know this. On the other hand, it is a good place from which to venture out to Hafnarholmi in Bogarfjurdor Eystri to see the puffins at night, and a great place to launch out from to go to Studagil Canyon.

The cabin was spacious and clean. The shower was right across from the sink which was a little weird. Overall, it worked ok. Definitely on the rustic side. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ate dinner at their restaurant and got soup, pasta, and bacon burger. It was all delicious. Ate breakfast there in the morning and it was also good and convenient.

The room was perfect for a short stay. The staff was friendly and so helpful. They offered a cold breakfast, but we had our own. The showers were hot and strong. Such a great stop!

The room and bathroom was very small however had a nice spot to sit outside and enjoy the Iceland weather.

Perfect stay for our ring road trip. Off a dirt road, but much nicer than most other dirt/gravel roads we travelled! Staff was wonderful. Breakfast was delicious-fruit, yogurt, cereal, meats, cheese, breads, etc. Bed was comfortable, no negatives.
