The hotel was amazing, the onsen and the rooms were fantastic. The service was excellent. I would advise people NOT to get the food, it was not flavorful, it was weird and many courses. There are really good food options in Gora, so enjoy the hotel and eat out in the town instead.

Simply amazing experience - kind and friendly staff; delicious snacks/drinks; to-dream-of kind of breakfast; and hot spring baths (in-room, private, AND shared/sauna); selection of yukata; amenities just 5 out of 5. Did not feel like leaving and a huge thank you to the staff - made us feel very welcome and the entire experience completely surpassed my expectations.

It’s a very special experience, the hotel’s location is perfect and it’s like a private setting. It’s very worthwhile.

We loved this ryokan experience. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room had its own onsen with hot spring water. We were given yukatas to wear throughout the hotel. Meals were excellent with personal service and kaiseki dinners. All in all, a great Japanese experience.

Excellent staffs and services, all areas are cleaned well, free flow of drinks and snacks, pillow choices, great dinner and breakfast.

Absolutely fabulous stay at Suiun - would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit the Hakone region. The room was beautiful, the Kaiseki dinner was delicious and beautifully presented. The onsen was a great way to relax annd unwind after a busy few days travelling across Japan.

I enjoyed my time at Suiun. Some of the staff speak English, which was helpful. I will book a room here if I visit Hakone again.

We absolutely loved our stay. We only stayed one night during our two weeks in Japan, but it was by far our best stay. Our room was perfect with a great view, the in-room onsen was so relaxing, as were the private onsens outside. The staff was also so kind and helpful. We’ll definitely be recommending them to friends and family!

The Onsen had both private and public baths, as well as an open air bath attached to your room. We also enjoyed a massage that was very relaxing. The food was very good as well.

Staff from Manager to all levels were a bit clueless to take care of customers with different needs such as vegetarian food. We went without dinner. Staff couldn’t arrange a taxi for us. We paid 4* price but the experience we got felt like a youth hostel. Morning coffee was from a vending machine, no unman being any where to service. All in all will not recommend this place.

If you are vegetarian and don’t speak the language don’t even bother with this facility, we paid $400/night - staff was super unhelpful in finding a place to eat and arrange for taxi ride to the train station, unusual for a country who is so customer focused.

The staff was superb, detail oriented and acommodating, the hotel was beautiful, peaceful, and super clean. We would stay here over and over again if we could !!
