My stay was quite a surprising experience. I had to wait about 15 minutes for my room even though I arrived at 3 PM. The receptionist was so-so, not particularly friendly, but compared to Aston hotels in other cities, the hospitality was definitely far from up there. The room service staff was friendly, the check-out receptionist was friendly, and the restaurant staff were also friendly.
When I entered my room, I was surprised to find the water in the toilet, sink, and shower was cloudy like coffee, even though I was just about to perform ablution. I complained, and the hotel resolved the issue fairly quickly, although the water still wasn't clear (it remained slightly cloudy until we checked out).
The room was right next to the elevator, with a good bed, large windows, and a fairly cold AC. Overall, aside from the water issue, the room was fine.
The restaurant menu was quite varied, and the staff at breakfast were helpful and explained the menu. The tauco was delicious.
The water issue was a real annoyance. The only compliment I received was an apology. For a hotel by Aston, this was quite disappointing.
