The staff, without exception, was outstanding. The location, tranquility, service and food stood out. Enjoyed the ocean views. Always felt safe and well cared for. Hopefully I will return again and again

American solo. The resort is paradise. Secure. Effort to be handicap friendly. I had a 3rd-floor room by the entrance. Walls are thin, so guests should be mindful to be quiet. *My only issue is that breakfast is only 6-9am local time. This means forcing oneself to eat during sleeping hours until jet lag can adjust. Don't buy the bed & breakfast package if you're like me and need (or want) to sleep in. It IS vacation after all! Save funds for a la carte meals. *Courteous staff, taxis at gate for travel, clean and spacious room and balcony in working order. Fun animation planning (aerobics, volleyball, etc.), excursions, live entertainment, on-site museum and shopping, small gym, and small spa. *Monkeys do roam the site, so keep food to restaurant area. *Constant breeze off Indian Ocean is divine. Bar service on the lawn and at poolside. Swing bar. Outdoor shower. At beach, see Tembo for glass boat, take camel ride, get massage, buy local crafts, save pocket change for acrobatic kids seeking tips.

Perfect hotel, the only weekness was the 4pm tea. I wish there were snack cooked in front of guests like mandazi or packed potatoes or samosas. It becomes lively as in other resorts.

Traveling solo to Kenya for the first time, I was embraced by the staff at this delightful boutique hotel. They took the time to be sure I had everything I needed. It was a pleasure to be able to walk down to the dining room for tea in the afternoon and for delicious dinner in the evening. I give them my highest recommendation, particularly for solo women traveling to Kenya.

Nice with both fan and air conditioning. Both worked well. Did not see the ocean from my room but nice to have balcony (with garden view). Very beautiful gardens with funny monkeys jumping around.

Excellent room. Great view from balcony overlooking pool and Indian Ocean. We coild sit outside and listen to the music at night. Room was spotless. We had half board. Food was ,satisfactory. Do not expect a gourmet experience—more at the level of a middle of the road chain restaurant in the US, but this is Mombasa. I would go here again if I were to return to Mombasa. Note that the roads in Mombasa to get here were awful. Traffic was disastrous, a manifestation of the local infrastructure

Severin Sea Lodge is a lovely beachfront property with clean rooms and great dining options — the breakfast and dinner buffet offered plenty of variety and tasted great. I really enjoyed the environment and overall atmosphere. My only negative experience was the check-in process, which took almost an hour due to limited staffing at night. Also, the reception area could use fans for guests, especially while waiting. If those issues are improved, this would easily be a 5-star experience
