The owners and employess work really hard to ensure you have a pleasant and enJOYable stay. You can have dinner at the hotel or directly across the street at their restaurant. I appreciated that they don't play loud music late into the night. The breakfast was really good: there's juice, hot food, cereals and baked goods. Dinner is a bit expensive, but that is to be expected at a hotel along the coast. BW does a decent job of keeping their area of the beach clean--folks have to do a better job of not littering. My room (207) was a decent size. You can tell they completed some renovations but need to just patch some holes that were previously drilled. The blackout curtains were a plus! I'd definitely stay again because of the staff and envirnment.

Bra frukost, trevlig personal! Att beställa mat tog väldigt lång tid (ca 2 timmar ibland och en del missförstånd) men när vi kom med feedback lyssnade dem och vi blev kompenserade.

A resort by African standards which for its price is excellent. You could pay five times for an American owned resort but you would miss the local experience.

I liked the air conditioning but they need to improve on their meals. Chips are soggy and chicken is hard. They also nee to improve on cleanliness of the beach area. Everything else wae fine.

Starting with the good. We enjoyed the shuttle driver that picked us up. Very friendly and prompt. The staff was also nice. The breakfast was also nice and we enjoyed it. The bad - the cleanliness and upkeep was very poor. The dealbreaker for us was not even 14 hours into our stay my wife found and killed a bedbug on the mosquito net around 5am. We were petrified! We promptly notified the front desk and were switched to a room on the other side of the floor. That is not far enough away in my opinion but we already paid 8 days upfront that was non refundable. The day before we checked out got a letter saying property planned on fumigating the next morning. But we left later that afternoon and didn’t see any work. Not saying it didn’t happen but we didn’t see it. Even after leaving the hotel we are still worried that bedbugs could spread which makes it difficult to sleep at night. I leave it up to anyone to take this review as they see fit but for a problem like bedbugs that is something we need to know about and taught us going forward to search the reviews specifically and any mention of bedbugs means avoiding that place like a plague. Very very unsettling experience. We have pictures as proof.

It was our second stay and all went well. Few things: Though property says garbage on a beach is out of their control I have a different take on it. While what is washing off on a beach during high tide is out of their control , to clean it is . They say they have full time staff to clean beach . I went there twice and I never saw anyone cleaning it . It was not even that much garbage there . It was a significant amount but not to the point hat it’s not manageable . Such a shame . Because sand and water is beautiful . Every beach on a world has high and low tides and have things washing off the shore . But .. it gets cleaned for people use . That’s it’s just a neglect . We went for lunch at Girrafe hotel and there beach was perfectly clean. Spa: it looks gross. Sauna didn’t work. Only steam room . Bench was covered with someone’s scrub . There was something laying there against the wall like some broken peace . Massage table was covered with some stained material. Overall impression was to not return .

Overall it was a good choice for the price and the location I needed to be near. The staff were great. They were so helpful. I couldn't stay longer there when my trip altered greatly, so I had to relocate, but after relocating to a small hotel that was quieter I realized that Jangwani was perhaps a bit too noisy for me. But if someone wants to have access to locals, to music, to a beach front restaurant, then this could be a good place for them. The food was okay overall, but I'd say the pizza was a major let down for me. But service was great. Location can be hard if you want to be in the actual city to see sites everyday.

Jangwani was an excellent choice for me. The hospitality was well cultured, serving every person who walked in. What can I say about staff members? Well staffed beyond my expectations. Everyone was friendly, helpful, cleaning was to the notch. My room was impeccably clean. Thanks to the General Manager Ian and all his staff members for making my visit a memorable one. Definitely it’s a must return place and this time I’m being is my homeboys. Something to note: nothing personal towards Jangwani establishment but the business around the beaches should get together and do a clean up everyday to clear the desires from the ocean or at least the City should provide a way to clean up. A plus on this is that Jangwani offers a trip to another island to swim and snorkel for an extra fee which is ok. Congrats Jangwani! Continue the awesome atmosphere and having great staff members! Humphrey the chef, Michael the bartender and house keeping were great. Simon W. (Boston) June 2023

The executive suite was nice and very clean. Enjoyed the room, room service, all meals are delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful, no complaints there. You “get what you pay for” in the sense that the exterior of the hotel is not appealing, the swings in the pool area are outdated, the included playground, kids play area across the street is very outdated, and the entire area across the street is shared between guests and locals. This is not necessarily a bad thing as the locals are nice and do not cause any problems whatsoever, but just noting that the amenities are not “exclusive” or “guest only” as I am accustomed to. I’ve never seen a beach with so much garbage in the sand. It’s definitely not a beach for swimming but you can enjoy a little water view while eating or just sitting and talking. While I admit that I was able to enjoy ping pong, and a pool table during this stay, the amenities that I used and observed did not make up for the distance away from the main city of Dar Es Salaam where I wanted to do and experience additional things. The distance is maybe 45 minutes to an hour away from the airport and all the major stuff. Overall, the positive things I mentioned about the executive room, cleanliness, nice staff, really great food… definitely are worth the price.
