Poor food and drink

I didn’t like the fact that they dont have your room ready on time. There was alot of other people really upset.

The best resort in playa dorado

Let me start off by saying I rarely post a review. I’m a business owner and it really sucks to get a bad review so if it’s really not that bad, I don’t post about it. I just chalk it up to bad circumstances and leave it alone. However, this was quite possibly the worst resort we have ever stayed at. From the moment we walked in the door. There was an insane amount of sales pressure to purchase a timeshare of some sort at this property. If I was trying to sell a timeshare, I would make sure the property was clean adequately staffed, and comfortable for paying guests. When we first walked into the room, it was clean overall, but very old, tons of mosquitoes flying around the room, and the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Prior to our arrival I requested to not be placed next to families that had children and paid for an upgraded room that would allow for such accommodations. We booked a swim out room and our neighbors had five children. The term “swim out” is very deceiving. You share one very small pool with the ground floor neighbors. This is not a pool that connects to the rest of the resort. The photos of this resort overall are very misleading. I promise you it does not look like that when you get there and you will be highly disappointed. Dinner is a whole other story again if you wanted your guest to purchase a timeshare, wouldn’t it make sense that dinner reservations were made for them at arrival. Firstly, the room had a musty smell and was outdated. The air conditioner was leaking water, and the room flooded while I was sleeping. The glass doors of the bathtub were damaged, and I was afraid they might come loose and fall on me. Lastly, and worst of all, I found some insects in the bed which is absolutely unacceptable. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I do not believe the service or conditions reflected what I paid for. I would like to request a refund as this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel.

This is my favorite hotel on the northern coast of DR! In addition to the five star amenities, easy access to the beach and comfort of the rooms, the staff are amazing! Especially Orlando and Emeily at the reception desk, Carlos the bell hop, Chemy at Oak, Luis at the breakfast buffet and Águila in security!

I loved the attention to detail in rooms. I disliked the pressure to purchase excursions and vacation program. Additionally the amount of vendors offering wears and services on the beach.

Short stay, but I enjoy my time there. Wont say food was the best I ever had but I didn’t starved. If you decide to come and go to dinner in one of their restaurants don’t pick the Mexican the food wasn’t good. But place was definitely enjoyable. Make sure to visit the spa has a lot of perks for 65$

Very luxurious, top notch service

El Hotel en general me pareció bastante bien, los restaurantes no son la gran cosa , el bufet me pareció dió mejores opciones.. Tuve un percance con el vehículo rentado en la entrada lo cual fue culpa mia pero tamb del vigilante. El Supervisor segurdad fue muy bien en todo. Lo bastante negativo fué al momento de reunirnos para ver el video la actitud de una Señora muy seria , arrogante, poco amable e intimidante.. Señora blanca de uno 50 años mal arreglada y con un carón de madre, que ni su nombre dijo. A la final para evitar dije dejarán eso asi, ella no se disculpó, ni tuvo intención de reparar en lo absoluto su parte , lo cual me estresó bastante e hizo que al final no fuera mi estadía tan bueno. Eso fue el sábado 22 de Marzo como a las 4:30pm El Supervisor de seguridad si se disculpó por los inconvenientes.

This was a last minute booking wanting to get away from snowy weather and my daily routines in the northeast. Emotions by Hodelpa was a great choice because of the all inclusive amenities plus quite good food choices including the main dining area and more exclusive restaurants like Amici (that I thoroughly enjoyed). The staff were always greeting us with ‘Hola’ and answering questions in multiple languages. It was a toned down and relaxing week for my spouse and me. What I truly enjoyed was the private pool (shared only with 4 rooms on the first floor). It was private, clean, and convenient to walk out my sliding glass door and pop into the pool multiple times per day. The location of this resort is about 3 miles to the historic center of town. I took a private tour to get the full story from a local driver. On another occasion, I walked to the Jumbo store (kind of like Walmart) about 2 miles away and then took a taxi back to the resort. The beach is cleaned daily from seaweed and refuse left over from late night parties or brought up from the ocean. Evening entertainment was free and quite fun. Okay, I over-ate but didn’t over-imbibe, not that the temptation wasn’t there. Back to the gym to lose those 5 extra pounds I put on. I’d recommend this place above many of the other choices in Puerto Plata.

The property is clean and the staff very friendly. It’s a bit dated but you cannot beat the amenities and the location right on the beach. Be prepared to get a lot of sales pressure to listen to timeshare pitch but we will certainly be back.

rooms needs update

The rooms and staff were great overall, Solid resort for value. Food was ok at the buffet and the drinks were pretty weak as any other typical resort. There’s no room service at night only “drink service” that takes forever to deliver water, 2.5 hours later. Only food to eat at night is at the snack bar. The 3 restaurants are always booked better book as soon as you can. The beaches don’t have any umbrellas like their neighboring resorts do. Beaches were calm and clean and have services such as pedicure and massages that are better deals than the resorts.

Everything is fine. but out good more activities and entertainment inside the resorts as events for the night

El personal fue increíble, muy amable y era fácil conversar con ellos. El resort estaba muy limpio, en mi opinión. La comida a veces no era la mejor y a veces estaba muy buena. Lo que no fue lo mejor fue el entretenimiento. Fue un poco aburrido, pero aparte de eso, me quedaría aquí de nuevo.

Just returned from a week at Emotions. Booked the swim up room and it did not disappoint. The staff was excellent and helpful. Food options at buffet were very good. The coffee cafe was a real gem. The room was clean, beds were comfy. Would return.

We only ate at the buffet for the two days that we stayed. The food was okay, but not great. It was often overcooked and dry. The best choice was the pasta bar where the food was cooked to order. Guest services was awesome and quickly addressed our request for a mini bar refill when we missed housekeeping. The front desk folks were very friendly.

Stayed one night. Property very nice. Rooms ok. Bathrooms need to be updated. Took shower water was cold. Light in bathroom very dim. Didn’t care for the dinner buffet
