Mansion del Rio is like staying in a museum. We had a great time. It was close to Malecon 2000 as well as the revitalized Santa Ana area along the river. Staff were great, and the breakfast was very good.

The room was not ready when I arrived and had to wait in a steamy hallway. No electricity for 12 hours per day. No water, no internet. Access when it gets dark is very complicated… Avoid it.

The area is historically old. The hotel is charmingly Victorian. I am not sure why it’s listed as a river view room as buildings and tress make it impossible.

Very friendly staff who went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. Beautiful gardens and common areas. Excellent restaurant and bar. Great value. Extended my stay and upgraded to a suite for another ten days.

Great location in the historic area with views of the river and lots of dining options. Staff was wonderful—accommodated my request to change my reservation to the next day when my flight was delayed and gave me breakfast at 6:30am for an early morning flight. Be ready for lots of steps (it’s an old building and there is no elevator). Would definitely stay here again!

Acogedor, tranquilo con hermosa vistas e interiores lleno de pinturas y recuerdos del Guayaquil del ayer; con un equipo excelente, amable y cariñoso.

Beautifully maintained historial property along the riverfront. Staff was extra attentive. The only downside was no on site parking. Had to park several blocks away. Overnight parking was free but had to get up early every morning to pay for parking.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The woman that checked in my wife and I was pleasant, did a great job of informing us of hotel policies and helping us feel very welcomed.

We loved this hotel. From their cheerfulness when we arrived at 3 in the morning to their helpfulness about booking cabs and restaurants to the charming decor everything was perfect.

This is our first and second nights ever in Ecuador-Guayaquil. It’s located in a very historical and touristy neighborhood with art shops and security guards. The room is very beautiful with floor windows overseeing the river and iguanas on the tree across the street. They also have a nice terrace on the third floor to hangout. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for experiencing Guayaquil.

Unique property in a great location, safely walkable to numerous restaurants. It was close to bus station, airport and Malecon. The room and bathroom were spacious enough and bed was comfortable. The only issue i had with my room and several on same floor, along hallway past reception, was a window just below ceiling along the hallway wall. It had no curtains or cover and allowed light from hallway to enter room. Hallway lights were turned off around 12:30am, otherwise room was fsirly bright for sleep until then. At June 2022, there is construction on buildi g right next door that seems likely to last another 6-12 months. Workers didnt arrive til 8am the morning i was there, so it wasn't too bad.

Caution! Guayaquil is currently not safe for travel (May 2022) Aside from that, the hotel staff was out of this world amazing in every way. They helped guide us to the places that were safe and took care of our every need. This is an old, historic building and has lots of great antiques. Bathrooms have been updated since it was built in 1920, but expect some quirks from an old building. The building next door is under intense construction, so don’t expect quiet for some time. There is no elevator, but they do help with luggage. It’s in the art district, close to many great sights if it’s safe to go out. Bring your own toiletries.
