Their service was amazing, a little bit far from the city ( you may need to rent a car cause there are no activities close), but the place and the service were 10/10.

The room was perfect, and so clean. Great bedding, a nice bathroom and shower, and a private patio. The views were incredible. The staff were kind, friendly and accomodating.

Staff was very nice but the pictures of the property were very misleading. It is in the middle of nowhere down a very rough dirt road and next to the ocean but looks nothing like the beach in the pictures. You have to walk a ways down the road to get to a beach that is swimmable. Lots of rocks. When we arrived there was an awful sewer smell in the lobby and it permeated in the first room we were given. We had paid for a deluxe room with a mountain view but had to insist they move is. Second room was very nice and the food and service overall were great but had we known the location we would have stayed closer to town. Spectacular view from the rooftop but tiny pools. Not a great value for what they charge. Spent a week in Sayulita before venturing over to Punta Mita and in hindsight should have just stayed in Sayulita.

If you're looking for your own private oasis in Cancún, Hotel Basalto is it. This boutique hotel only has a handful of rooms, which means peace, privacy, and truly personalized hospitality. We booked the Ocean Suite and wow — the views were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the turquoise sea right outside your window? Unmatched. Every detail in the room felt meticulously designed, from the high-end finishes to the cozy layout. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, breathe deep, and feel grounded. One of the biggest highlights was the walkability to a secluded beach. Just a few steps away, and you’re on soft sand with barely anyone around. It felt like our own slice of paradise. And the food? Every single day was a gourmet experience. Think fresh prawn pasta, juicy steaks, wood-fired pizzas, and so much more — all at a very reasonable price. The rooftop pool was stunning. We spent every sunset up there soaking in the view and sipping cocktails. Absolute magic. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel like we were coming home every time we walked in. Hotel Basalto isn’t just a stay — it’s a vibe. A secret sanctuary you almost don’t want to share. But they’ve earned the praise. We’ll be back.

The property pictures online make this hotel look amazing and in some instances, the pictures match reality.

This hotel has ten rooms so you will have as much peace and quiet as you desire. The beach is small and private, with access at low tide to another beach very close by. The room was large and well appointed and fulfilled all of our needs. The on-site dining was very well done with many delicious choices. The one thing you will want to be aware of is it is secluded from many day or night time activities so plan on Uber or taxis to get you to livelier surroundings.

Quiet, romantic property, very nice room with ocean view, nicely appointed. Friendly, helpful staff. Great massage. Cute quiet beach. The food was beautifully plated, good but not quite great. Perfect for laidback relaxation.

The food was wonderful, I would say the cost is too high for what you get. The water was off overnight and our toilet plugged up.

Amazing views and amazing staff. Property is off of a dirt road and unless you pre-schedule an uber or car or rent a car, you’re stuck at the hotel. Property could use a good refresh with pretty much everything metal rusting out including the all the gym equipment in their so called gym. And lastly, the lack of a usable beach is tough as well. All in all, quaint hotel, quiet and a different experience if that’s what you’re looking for. Just needs some basic annual maintenance, hopefully a paved road eventually and maybe invest in a golf cart to drive customers down to the closest swimmable beach.

Just what I wanted. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a resort this is the place. There are beaches within walking distance if you want. But there’s a nice pool at Basalto. Even when it was full it seemed like there was no one there. The restaurant is amazing at reasonable prices. Can’t say enough about this place. If you want to relax this is the place. The town of Punta Mita is a 5 min taxi ride but even that town is not too busy.

The staff and food were fantastic. Its away from most amenities so youre just kinda there. My lady and I stayed 5 days at the Conrad and were spoiled at the huge property. We then moved to Bosalto and were equally happy with the quaintness of it. Id love to return some day soon.

Wonderful staff who were very friendly and attentive - 5 Stars. A nice small (10 rooms) hotel with good food and service. However, the area around the hotel is grubby (lots of run down buildings and construction) and the location is inconvenient/isolated. It is a short walk to a beautiful beach/stretch of ocean and El Barracuda but most other things are not within walking distance. Good for a short break and very relaxing.
