Worst experience ever. Hotel is advertised wrongly. No fridge, no microwave, no kettle, blankets ripped, no hot water, breakfast provided not on the menu. Very noisy due to clubs around the area. Arrived at the property given to separate rooms away from my kids yet booked a 2 bed apartment. In those rooms there was nothing as advertised. No hot water, no fridge and no microwave. Made a complaint then was moved to the 2 bed apartment we initially booked the next day. However there was a fridge in that apartment but again no microwave, no kettle. Worst hotel we ever booked. For those reasons will never use horizon inn again as long as i live. Rather sleep on the street. The only positive side was the receptionist was very helpful.

Nice clean hotel for what you pay for and polite and helpful staff.Floors could do with upgrading to something that doesn’t require the use of cobra for polishing, such as ceramic tiles, as the smell of cobra can affect those of us with hay fever. Otherwise a very good hotel for someone on a limited budget!

The room was reeking of chemicals, generally it wasn’t that clean and was too cold.

Decided to give Horizon Inn a try for a 2 night visit to Harare. The check-in was smooth and everything was as it should be. The lady at the front desk was an absolute joy. The rooms are not much to write home about. The linen is probably a couple of decades old, the mattresses are very uncomfortable and the pillows were so thin it was beyond belief. No words could adequately describe that. You just need to forego comfort. At best what you want to do is sleep there but not much else. The rooms were very clean though which was a bonus. I have to say that for what it is Horizon Inn is very well kept from the grounds to the rooms. Great wifi. The location itself is not too bad. It is relatively close to Harare CBD which is about 10 minutes walk. This is not an area to walk around at night or after the sun goes down. The closest intersection is very busy with both people (vendors) and vehicles so the mornings were very noisy. Not a chance for a sleep-in. The amount you pay and what you get really leaves a lot to be desired. But that is how Zimbabwe is currently set up - the USD is not really given its due respect so the pricing of some things is unrealistic and Horizon Inn is a perfect example. I learnt my lesson and the pricepoint is not reflective of what you would expect in terms of standard. Absolutely cannot fault the staff, they are the best thing about Horizon Inn. Very friendly and dependable. If you can spare a few extra $$$ I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
