The decor and the history of the building was great! The breakfast was awesome and variety of items available hot and cold was impressive. We stayed in a ground floor 2 Queen room. You can tell they are popular with families as the room walls showed wear. The surfaces really needed another once over as they were dirty when we arrived. The bartender Alan was delightful and really added to our stay. He gave helpful recommendations. The location was great and we would definitely stay here again if an occasion allows.

We had an executive king room on the fourth floor which had a nice bathroom and a small closet and a desk. We liked the bedside tables with USB ports and outlets. Everything was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the history and quirkiness of the building and decor. We were here during a very hot spell and our room was not hot but still stayed warmer than we would have liked for sleeping.

Cute and unique ex convent. Nice breakfast included. Cleaning staff helpful. Challenging walking and limited options downtown.

Very cool old hotel that used to be a convent. Interesting artwork and architectural details. Comfortable room, nice breakfast and a swanky bar. Very kind night clerk helped us out when we mistakenly parked our rental in a garage that was NOT 24/7.

The Celeste is a beautiful hotel within walking distance of museums and the state capital which is why I chose this location. It's a historic building with hardwood floors. The architecture is beautiful. It's also near a train and a fire station so I did hear the sirens as trucks left the station for emergencies. At times I could also hear the trains. The breakfast is delicious and definitely an appreciated perk. I only went out for breakfast my first day in town. Every other day I chose to eat in the hotel. I would stay here again.

Have stayed in this property many times. Sadly the bloom is off this once quirky rose of a hotel. The front of the property, outdoor seating for drinks, is filthy as if abandoned by ownership, stagnant misquote infested fountain and patio littered with trash. Check in was perfunctory with no effort made by front desk staff to inquire about needs or assistance with wi-fi or information about location and times for breakfast. The bar was expensive: $26 for a manhattan and a draft beer. Will not be returning to the Celeste in the future or recommend it to others visiting St. Paul. Makes me sad to see this charming hotel slowly seeping down the drain of irrelevancy.

I loved every single thing about this place. The room, the bed, the staff, the bar…. Everything. It is an incredible building and so cool inside. Special shoutout the bartender, Alan. He was so personable and gave great recommendations. He was also really knowledgeable about the history there too.

Our stay at the Celeleste St. Paul was great. Both the woman at the front desk and bartender on duty were helpful, friendly and accommodating. The hotel has many unique features and beautiful wood work throughout. It was decorated well and the many references to the buildings past use was interesting. We attended a show at the Fitzgerald theater and having our hotel so close was very convenient. We enjoyed the 2 bedroom king suite and found it perfect for our needs. It was spacious and the beds were so comfortable. Having a designated sitting area between the bedrooms was nice for visiting before bed. We would stay again.

It was a new hotel for us and a bit of a gamble since i wasn't familiar with it at all and the neighborhood age it is. We were pleasantly surprised at the unique hotel and connection to an interesting history as a convent. The room was good, although I'd add a small lounging chair in addition to the desk one. It said parking was available but wasn't clear that it was a public lot not the hotels lot. It worked out find because it was next door. A breakfast was included but when we arrived, many of the offerings were depleated and no one was around that we could ask to resupply. So we went to a restaurant instead. We booked Celeste so we could attend a concert and we're able to walk to it. The small bar was closed by the time the concert was over at 10:30 which was a disappointment because we had planned to enjoy an after concert drink.

Great boutique hotel. Was not clear that ADA entrance was around the corner through the sliding doors. It appeared we needed a key card for that entrance.
