This is the absolute best place to stay in St Andrews! Clean, comfortable, warm room. Modern bathroom. Very friendly staff. Delicious and large breakfast. Cheerful and homey place to return each night. We can't wait to return!

Great location, lovely staff. But would love a kettle in the room as a tea drinker. Saying that staff were happy to supply hot water. Recommended place to stay.

The Dunvegan is absolutely enchanting and is perfectly located for visiting your University of St. Andrews student (MacIntosh Hall, the first year dorm, is right across the street.) The staff was so friendly and accommodating that we left feeling like family. Breakfast was cooked to order and the few number of rooms in the hotel made it a relaxing experience. A few things to remember if you are visiting from the US are that it is in the middle of town in an old building so there is no on-site parking. It's better to rely on public transportation rather than a rental car. Also, the bottom floor is a very popular pub so, in the evenings, you are part of the action. If you are a go-to-bed-early kind of traveler, you may find the atmosphere a little noisy until 10:30 p.m. But that is a large part of the charm of the place too.

The room was really noisy. At 10.30 when my daughter was asleep a party started under our room in the bar with someone playing the saxophone loudly. Completely impossible to sleep through this. I had to go down to the bar and complain at which point the manager did ask them to stop. This function room under room 4 should not be used if guests are staying.

Great location near the Old Course. Nice size room with a fun bar/ restaurant on the first floor. The bathroom was completely renovated and was great. We walked a lot of St Andrews from this location.

GREAT location, large rooms - love staying at the Dunny. Onlybwarning I would give is that it will be loud at night (until the bar downstairs closes and the golfers/students disperse) until around 11. Not good for children.

Amazing location and history. The bar was always lively but the noise wasn’t an issue in our hotel rooms. Breakfast was good. The only downside was that there was a leak in the room above so the ceiling in one of our rooms was in pretty bad shape. The bathrooms were newly remodeled but our room needed some TLC. Having said that I would stay there again

If you love golf and/or amazing service, this is the place for you! I was there with a mad golfer who was in literal heaven, but u wasn't a golfer and still loved it! I don't know how their staff served people so quickly or looked after us so well but they did!!! Will 100% go back

We had a fabulous stay in Dunlevan. Only negative as tea drinker was lack of tea making facilities in the rooms and at breakfast. I travelled with my 17 year old who also doesn’t drink coffee which was the only hot drink option. Tea and hot chocolate would be a great addition to rooms, breakfast and bar services. Would happily recommend and would stay again if in the area.

Very, very old and very cool hotel with just a few big pleasant rooms. Right around the corner from the old course. The pub downstairs is right out of a movie, full of golfers and golf lovers with golf dominating the conversation. Good pub grub and service - overall great experience.

We loved the location. Walkable to the Old Course. The pub downstairs has so much history and vibe. The room was very clean and comfy. The bathroom is updated. There is no elevator, for those who may need one. We stayed in room #2, there was some road noise but we did have our window open. Breakfast was very good.

The Dunvegan Hotel is fabulous! We loved our time there. The location is perfect, close to the courses, shops, beaches and St Andrews. The people and staff are amazing, so helpful, and so fun. It was lively in the pub area and dinner at the Claret Jug was great. Absolutely a place I'd recommend for repeat visits.

The bar is a big favorite among locals and worldwide golfers. Old Course right close. Very pleasant and very friendly. "Hotel operations" are run out of the bar. Pleasant and quiet room with single beds (golfers' pref, i'm sure) with updated bathroom. Lovely breakfast. Free parking for rental in public lot nearby.
