This was an amazing stay close to Hadrian’s Wall. The hospitality was so amazing that I wished we could have stayed longer! From the warm homemade cherry pastry and offer of water on arrival to the incredible breakfast as we left, every need was taken care of. The room was comfy and clean and we were within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. And the ride to the station with all of our luggage was much appreciated. Incredible hosts!!

The welcome from the hosts was fantastic, showing us around the property and the room with what was provided. The breakfast was amazing and really well prepared. I have not hesitation in recommending for anybody looking for accommodation in this area.

Ian and Kate were spot on and just what we needed after a day of hiking and exploring. Friendly and approachable but gave us our space. Helpful with dinner ideas. They cooked a delicious made to order breakfast that left nothing to be desired. Highly recommend!

I arrived just after 8pm and was personally and kindly welcomed to The Old School House. After a long day’s walk, I was offered a drink, which was much appreciated. My bags were taken to my room, and I was given a tour of the property.Breakfast was homely and delicious, and I enjoyed meeting some lovely fellow guests. The place was immaculate, and the hosts were absolutely charming.I would definitely stay again and it was just what I needed after a 30-mile walk!

Absolutely perfect in every detail! Every single amenity and convenience has been anticipated. The breakfast was phenomenal with an outstanding array of homemade choices sure to please anyone. The hosts are charming and knowledgeable. The bathroom was immaculate and the bed was super comfortable and we had splendid sleep. Many choices for dining are nearby. We truly hope to come back again.

The Old School House is THE BEST B&B period. Kate and Ian go to great lengths to provide everything you could possibly need. They are so kind and hospitable. Kate provides a huge and delicious breakfast tailored to suite you. There is extra fruit to take away on your day trips. And fabulous cakes, tea, coffee, water and a chocolate to greet you in your room every afternoon. Don’t even think about staying anywhere else. You will love it!

This B&B was one of the best we stayed in during our 3-week stay in the U.K. Our room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and contained everything we needed. We were even able to do a load of laundry. Kate and Ian were very hospitable, and breakfast was amazing. Wish we could have stayed more than one night.
