For HK, please deepen your understanding of the function of door signs, especially make-up rooms. I hadn't asked for my room to be cleaned, and without my permission, it was cleaned (while I was having breakfast), with my clothes and personal belongings still untidy. As far as I understand, make-up rooms are done after guests check out, when permission is given from guests (those staying more than one night), or when the "Please Make Up Room" sign is displayed on the outside door.
When I checked in, the front desk had told me that if I wanted to use the make-up room, I could inform the front desk. No one informed me beforehand that the room would be cleaned while I was having breakfast, meaning I didn't receive permission, and the room is a private guest area. This was a very bad experience for me.
