We had a very warm welcome from excellent hosts. The Great House was beautifully presented and a house with fascinating history. We totally relaxed with a hot tub and freshly baked picnic whilst we were there. The walking in the area is beautiful and I recommend a visit here.

We found The Great House as a very convenient place to stay for a wedding in the local area. The owners Sheila & Bruce were so welcoming with handy help and excellent breakfasts. A lovely setting that we couldn’t fully explore due to weather and a wedding but would return again in an instant!

This grand old house has oodles of history and is located in a very quiet setting. The entire house has been beautifully restored with attention to detail. We chose the Dunster Suite on the ground floor and even in the middle of the heat wave it remained cool and comfortable! Sheila and Bruce were perfect hosts and could not have been more welcoming, attentive and kind. All the food is home cooked to perfection, and a visit to the Club Lounge is a must…you will feel like you have travelled back in time. What they have created here is very special indeed, and the room rates are great value given the amazing service, luxury touches, and the hosts willingness to go the extra mile to make sure your stay is special. I also love their commitment to sustainability. No single use plastics here, milk is served in glass bottles butter in a proper dish and sugar in a bowl. Luxury with sustainability. I cannot recommend The Great House highly enough. Five stars all around!

The linen was filthy dirt. We had to resort to purchasing linen at local Tesco as their linen was smelling considering COVID times. This was bad will be putting a complaint to Hotels. Com with a view to getting my refund
