We loved our stay here! The hotel is updated and well maintained and staff are lovely. You can’t beat the views!

The views are lovely. The property has many fruit trees and of course grape vines. The drive to get there involves narrow hairpin turns with steep hills, so it is not for the anxious driver. Breakfast was excellent. The cabin we stayed in was not elegant but everything we needed was there except maybe for no kettle to boil water in without a trip to main building.

This was a lovely property. Orange trees were blooming, it overlooked the vineyard, and had beautiful outside and inside common areas. We had a wine tasting and charcuterie board, and Silvie our host was lovely and informative. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Great place. Views are spectacular. Silvia and her staff were very helpful. Breakfast is amazing. Set right on a vineyard amongst orange, olive and grape vines. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff, clean room, beautiful area

This trip just keeps getting better and better! This is NOT a hotel. It is more a resort guest house. Complete luxury with a setting in the hill/mountains of the Douro valley that is right out of movie setting. Friendly helpful staff always eager to help. The room was luxurious, the included breakfast was just out of this world. Off season prices made this incredible place even better! The only reason I gave it 5 starts was because 6-7-8 were not available!

Beautiful property, very quiet location, a fantastic place to disconnect! Highly recommend doing the wine tasting - the Tributo was phenomenal! Amazing service from the team, especially Sylvia. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The room vas comfortable and clean. The property was gorgeous. We came on a rainy day and we were still able to enjoy the beautiful view. Breakfast was well done - hot and cold food served fresh. Staff were very very kind and attentive. Wine was wonderful !! Would highly recommended.

Outstanding small quinta in the middle of the wine country. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way for anything and everything. Make time for the wine tasting, and be sure to add a tabua - our small board had amazing variety and quality.

We had such a wonderful stay. The rooms were fantastic and had a view of the valley. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our family. Breakfast was great and can be enjoyed looking out at the beautiful view. We only had one night stay but we would most definitely come back and stay for longer. Highly recommend!

The staff were very friendly and kind. The breakfast served was one of the best we’ve had at any hotel with lots of variety and such fresh fruit. We enjoyed walking through the vineyard and found it an excellent spot to explore Douro. Highly recommend.

Very nice property. Very off the beaten path. Would have been nice to have a dinner dining option so we wouldn’t have to drive. Wine tastings were hard to find because it was harvest season. Comfortable rooms and views are terrific! FYI pool is not heated. Excellent staff!

We absolutely loved Quinta da Portela. The staff was fabulous. The property has gorgeous views and the breakfast was fantastic. Perfect place to relax by the pool or go for a hike on the vineyards. The wine tasting done by the owner’s grand daughter was incredible with lots of interesting information and delicious charcuterie board. Beautiful pool and rooms. Very new and well constructed. Would stay again if ever lucky enough to get back to this beautiful country.
