We stayed here for one night before a flight. Kevin, who manages the property, was so kind and helpful and friendly. Honestly, he truly made the stay. It's fun to cross the river on the boat and it's beautiful! That said, the property is very old and kind of run down. The "bar" is a fridge with sodas and bottled beers. The game room is old, but works. There is nothing else to do on property. The cabanas are... rough. We were promised a cabana with a king bed. Turns out, they all only have double beds. For two people on a honeymoon, that's a big bummer and I would have chosen somewhere else if I had known. The cabana was SO hot when we arrived and didn't cool down for about 5 hours, though we had the tiny in-window AC unit blasting the whole time and were sitting right next to it. The water pressure was practically non-existent. You could see the ground through the floorboards. The beds were comfortable enough and I was pleasantly surprised that the pillows were decent, considering the rest. There were many dogs on the property, which I personally loved, but may be a drawback to others. They did get into a barking spat for about 5 minutes late at night. We're used to dogs so that didn't bother us. They were a welcome warmth in our opinion. Really, I wouldn't particularly recommend staying here, which hurts my heart because we would love to see Kevin supported. He was so helpful and kind and it was so easy to get to dinner and the airport because of him.

The location of the property is great, right on the river. But they are trying to sell the property, and some things aren’t being dealt with. I had booked a room with a king bed, but we were given a room with 2 queens. When I asked about it, Kevin (the only employee there) said that is what management told him to give us. It said air conditioning, but the floor boards aren’t sealed and you can see the ground through the cracks, which means the cold air is going out. The room was clean, as well as the bathroom, but we couldn’t use the shower as only hot water came out. The faucet handle was stuck. We didn’t worry about it as it was only 1 night we were staying. Kevin was the only employee, and he was very nice and helpful. However, coming home from dinner, his boat broke down in the middle of the river and we waited for maybe 45 min in the cab, to get across the river to the place. It’s the only way to get to the place. The boat needs to be replaced as it’s falling apart. I sat on one of the chairs and almost fell over as it was barely attached to the boat. Again, since they are trying to sell, not much is being cared for. Hopefully someone will buy the property and fix it up, as we loved the location.

You have to take a very short pontoon boat ride to the cabins. Once you are at the cabins, you are essentially stuck. The host was nice and ordered us in dinner. He also cut coconuts down from trees when we asked. We drank the water and ate some of the flesh from the coconuts. We relaxed in the hammocks and in the cabin. It was convenient for our morning flight.

It's really a beautiful location right on the river, and transportation to restaurants and the airport was quick and reliable. The place is now for sale and really could use some TLC and general repairs and more maintenance. But the air conditioner worked, the sheets were clean, and it was a very nice environment.

I had a unique and memorable stay at River Bend. While the property itself is a bit run-down and has the feel of a bargain-basement summer camp, it was surprisingly clean and comfortable inside. The real highlight was the amazing staff, who were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. The resident dogs added an extra layer of charm to the place! The bar was open on arrival, the staff was ready to order-in food for dinner, and the breakfast was fresh and ready at 7:00 AM. It may not be a luxury resort, but it’s certainly the coolest airport hotel you could ask for—perfect for those seeking a laid-back, friendly atmosphere. They picked me up from the airport in a boat and took me back promptly the next day! All in all, great value for the price, and I’d happily stay again.

This spot is unique, and it involves some coordination with the shuttle van and boat but Innis and Kevin are super cool and so helpful that it wasn't an issue. It's definitely a jungle, you need insect repellent if you walk around but not in our room. The games and bar area were fun and my sister got to hang out after check out until her ride to the airport a bit later. These are honestly the nicest people ever! I hope the owner compensates them sufficiently for how much work it is. It's for sale too, I don't know if they could get a pool in there but that would be awesome since river has crocodiles and isn't swimmable (at least for tourists!!). The bed was really comfy in the main house too and the AC was super!!

Fantastic spot to stay upon landing in Belize. Minutes from the airport, we were relaxing in our room 15 minutes after landing. Kevin is a fantastic host, with solid advise on food and transportation. He also picked up food from the brewery for us.

The cabana was clean enough and the setting is beautiful. There was only one person working there. He was was not service oriented in any way. Took his time with everything and not helpful. The booking said it was pet friendly, however, there are 4 dogs running loose on the property that were harassing my dog every time we took her out to potty.

Kevin was so welcoming from the moment you arrived. He took time to walk us to our room and show us each bit of it. He was moving all day between getting guests to and from the dock, to showing guests to their rooms, to helping guests get food or shuttles. He did it all with a smile too! The rooms are dated, but spacious and comfortable. We really liked having a kitchen in ours so we could stop at Sky Markets, nearby, and cook our meals. The showers are heated which is a treat after 7 island days. The porches are all equipped with hammocks which is nice to take in the evening or morning breeze. They also let you use their fishing pools to fish off the dock in the old Belize river! Breakfast was nice too.

Property needs upgrading. The rooms are old and rundown. Bedding is not comfortable, inadequate water and shower doesn’t work well. On the positive side, the staff are very attentive and customer focused.

Mostly speculated, nice boat ride, welcoming and awesome hosts, fishing (caught 1) and once was big enough to break my hook. Cool pool table. Great cod beers.

We found this to be a unique place in need of a bit of a tuneup. First and foremost, the on site staff of Kevin and Genelle are wonderful and kind. There is a nice dock for enjoying a beer. Our room had a country feel, which we hoped to have. Food was a bit challenging to get delivered but we made due. Kevin was prompt in getting us out on time to catch our flight. Avoid conversation with the onsite owner - I’ll just leave it at that. Anyway, it’s a fun place but go with tempered expectations.

We stayed at this property after arrival and before departure from Belize. It is less than 2 miles from the airport. The facility is currently for sale. One room had a very noisy air conditioner. The other room was very suitable. Staff was very friendly.

The convenience of this property is its closeness to the airport for sure, but it’s also just a beautiful, relaxing, serene little bungalow heaven. The staff were all so incredibly helpful and it was easy to arrange shuttles wherever we needed to go. There’s a bunch of tours based in Ladyville so getting to the ruins and stuff was also super easy! They’ll pick you up from the hotel! Drinks and snacks were on site for purchase and breakfast was included every morning. I will say it is a riverfront tropical place so prepare for a little bit of mosquito/ant action but they’ve screened the bungalows pretty well to help with it. I would totally recommend this place for anyone planning to fly out the next day or two.
