We had a fantastic stay in the hotel Splanzia. Location was brilliant - right in the heart of Chania town but also quiet and relaxing. The breakfast was gorgeous and the people who run the hotel are so helpful and friendly. Loved it and would definitely go back

Hotel Spanzia is a true gem of a property. Great staff. Excellent location for exploring Chania. Breakfast is not the usual lineup of warming trays. Served in the hotel’s perfect garden area, eggs are served as you wish with many choices. We had the upper floor room with a loft ( we didn’t use) . Bed are comfortable. Lovely furnishings in our room and throughout the hotel. Highly recommend.

Perfect location right in the outskirts of Chania town but still in the center. Maybe 5-9 min walk to the water and another 20-25 min walk to the nearest beach town Nea Chora. The room was very large for 2 people and perfectly cleaned. The bathroom felt very separate from the main room and the door is heavy/secure so allows for great privacy. The highlight of the hotel besides the location and comfort of the room is the made-to-order BREAKFAST! Unbelievable variety of food (actually too much for two people) with coffee, tea, cereals, eggs prepared how you like, fresh orange juice, pastry, fresh jam with variety daily (fig, pear), fruit platter (grapes, watermelon, melon, nectarine), bread and another small appetizer of vegetables. Truly is an incredible spread and we saved whatever we couldn’t eat to snack on later.

Exceptionally located property in the heart of Chania. We were a few minutes walking distance from everything - delicious restaurants, the harbor, the bus stop, etc. The owners are incredibly thoughtful and kind, providing delicious and bountiful breakfasts in their picturesque garden. Fabulous way to start the day. They also took the time to orient us with the neighborhood map and provide various recommendations. They were accommodating of our schedule, securing our luggage when we arrived hours before check-in and then doing the same when we departed hours after checkout. Our room was beautifully appointed and spacious. Loved the décor and especially the twinkling stars that doubled as a nightlight. Highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a well-priced, conveniently-located, charming hotel in the perfect location.

I'll with saying the hotel is amazing. It provided the perfect local, authentic solution to staying in and experiencing Chania without having to sacrifice anything. The room contained a queen size bed with plenty or room and storage around the space. We also had access to a front balcony. Aside from the room the hotel is central to all the main tourist attractions and is surrounded by excellent food venues. The thing that puts this hotel over the top are the brothers in particular Nikos who welcome suou on arrival introduces to you to the main attractions and ensures your stay is as comfortable as possible. Finally, the breakfast that Nikos provides is amazing daily omelette cooked to order. Pancakes, cereals, fresh juice, coffee and too many additional local delicate that are delicious. Overall, this has been one of my most enjoyable hotel experiences.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Splanzia. The breakfasts in the lovely courtyard were delicious and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and the neighborhood great. We had a room on the street but it still was very quiet.

We went on honeymoon to Chania. The two brothers who run the hotel are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfast is a delicious feast and the location in Chania is fantastic. Very easy to get to the old port and within easy reach of lots of choices of restaurants, cafes and bars.

We stayed in Splanzia for 5 days in late June 2018. I was not sure about booking it vs. a more expensive hotel with parking included and right in the harbor. Splanzia was less expensive but the price was NOT my consideration at all. I finally chose it for being described as quiet, away from the noise of bars and restaurants at night. What a lucky decision! Location is absolutely ideal: 5-10 minutes walk to everything you might want to go to. At the same time, it is indeed quiet and feels more like home than a busy touristy hotel. One of the most pleasant hotels we have stayed in many years. The hotel is family run and EXCEPTIONALLY efficient and comfortable. We were on the third floor without elevator but barely noticed it because the manager took our luggage up immediately and cheerfully. EVERY time with had ANY question (even a stupid one), the response was positive, immediate and to the point. Customer service, in other words, is stellar! The room is sufficiently big and elegantly decorated. Nothing unnecessary, but all you might need. Everything worked perfectly, even WiFi, which is not at all given in Greece. Clean, well kept and authentically decorated. Even my very demanding husband absolutely loved it. The daily breakfast is served on a cozy terrace looking like a small museum of ancient artifacts. It is served by one of the managers and cooked right there basically in front of you. Everything is fresh, delicious and nutritious. A pleasure to even think of it...

We spent 5 nights at this small boutique hotel and really enjoyed our stay. The location was very good, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is also very good with lots of variety. Because it is a small hotel, it also feels cozy. The hotel has a nice and comfortable garden. There is also a laundromat a few doors down, which came in very handy after two weeks of traveling.

Wonderful location, very warm hospitality, fantastic breakfast, very well remodeled home/hotel. A few minor changes would make this an even better place: don't charge for coffee in the room, for example, and make facial tissues and a second dustbin available.

Lovely hotel in great location within old town and close to good restaurants and harbour. Really good and generous breakfast with lots of little extras, served in pretty courtyard. Run by 2 brothers who were very friendly and solicitous. Highly recommended.

We stayed for four nights at Splanzia. It is a very comfortable hotel with large and clean rooms, and is located in a nice area with easy walking access to the old harbour, shopping and eating places. The people at Splanzia are very knowledgeable and helpful, and their recommendations on things to see, do and eat gave us a great sampler of Chania and its surrounding areas. We would love to be back!
