It was basic as for the accommodations; however, it was presented that way in its description. The restaurant nearby provided an array of comfort foods.

Challenging drive in…16 miles off main road, last 3 rough gravel. Restaurant on site was good, didn’t use pool. Definitely a rustic setting.

A bit far from Big Bend, significant enough to definitely take not of if you're considering staying here. However, totally an oasis in the desert and a great way to cap off our trip. The pool and the stargazing on the grounds was definitely a highlight.

This was an interesting place in that it has a lot of open space. Room was clean. If you like looking at the sky at night, this is a place to see all of the stars. There is no TV and internet can be spotty at times. But a great place to sit outside, play card/board games and enjoy the scenery. It was very relaxing. It is a little bit of a drive to Big Ben Nal’l Park and into the nearby town. The on-site restaurant, Bad Rabbit, was good, friendly and had great internet access.

My friends rented a hotel that was full, so I had to find my own place. I was VERY surprised that in a town of population 236, my choice was 47 miles (an hour's drive) from where they stayed near Ghost ranch. That was inconvenient. Also, very little (i.e. none) staff support outside 9-5 schedule.

It was great to stay at a place without a T V and phone. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Well, first off it takes 30 min to get there from the main road. The last 5 min is a caliche Road! Very dark and secluded. Kinda of scary for this city girl. Only had a small frig was expecting a microwave & coffee maker too. The internet service was spotty. The shower was very small meant for an RV. No soap to was your hands. It’s like a duplex and the wall is so thin you can hear the conversation next door . Will not be coming back.

This is a great base for Big Bend roaming. We were ok on the unpaved road in our van but those not used to it may want a suv/crossover/truck. This is glamping- not 5 star hotel- everything in the room is outfitted as such. It was the perfect mix of comforts and still getting that outdoorsy feel. We saw deer, ringtail cats, javalina, lots of quail & roadrunners. The views are lovely & the food was good.

The property is about 25 miles away from the main area of Terlingua. The ranch is located at the end of a road that turns into a dirt road. We had two nights booked and only stayed one. We stayed our second night in the Ghost Town area and it was very nice Hotel and close to the main area of town with restaurants and evening activities. The night we stayed at the Ranch there was a rain storm and the road to the Ranch was washed out. We helped rebuild an area of the road so we and others could get out to the main street. Thankfully We had a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

I like everything here, clean room, friendly staffs. One thing I do not like is it’s far from the national park and the road is uneven to drive.

There was no disclosure on the site about how far off the beaten path the hotel is located. 30 miles from Study Butte/Terlingua down a partially paved/poor dirt road and over an hour from Big Bend. No cell service, terrible internet and one captive restaurant of dubious quality. No TV in the room. Room was spartan to say the least with very hard mattresses. It was clean - about the only plus. No coffee for guests or ice, have to pay for everything. Tried to check out early (after one night of 3 night stay) and they refused to refund the balance despite agreeing with all of our points of dissatisfaction. The desk even acknowledged they have a lot of disappointed guests due to the remote location. Apparently the ranch is a time-share as well, which explains a lot. Our car and backs may never recover from getting in and out. Do NOT stay here.

Considering that there are very few accommodations around Big Bend National Park, this remote lodge is not the worst choice for those who drive into the park from the west. The cabins, each designed for four families, are quite cozy. The restaurant is open from morning until 9 p.m. However, there are a few drawbacks: 1. The last three miles of the road are unpaved, and the car gets covered with an inch of dust. Inside the property, there is no asphalt, and there is sand and dust all around. 2. In the evening, there are no streetlights, making it difficult to move around. 3. It's in the middle of nowhere and quite far from Terlingua
