I got room 519, which was next to the Staff Room (which, after reading other reviews, turned out to be a problem):
1. The noise from the Staff Room at certain times was quite disturbing during my rest time.
2. When I first checked in, I was a bit surprised because the room didn't smell like a freshly cleaned room. I even wondered if I'd been given a smoking room. But at the time, I didn't care.
3. The next day, around 8:30 AM, I heard a loud and disturbing engine noise. At the time, I was pretty sure it was a diesel generator, but again, I didn't want to worry about it because I was checking out soon. I only really couldn't stand it when, half an hour later, I noticed the room starting to smell like exhaust fumes, which I suspected was coming from the generator. I left the room and happened to be there, and I asked what the noise and smell were. She said, "It's probably coming from the basement, sir." I immediately called the receptionist and asked, "We'll have a technician check it out." Half an hour passed, and the engine was still running and the smell was getting stronger, but there was no sign of any follow-up from the hotel staff. Finally, fearing that the smell would pose a danger if I remained in the room, I was forced to check out early at around 9:40 AM. I asked the female receptionist about the problem, and she replied, "It's probably coming from the generator in the basement, sir. Our technicians are checking it." And so I checked out without properly handling my complaint, even though it could have been dangerous for the people in the room. Someone should have come to the room first.
Other complaints:
- On the evening of my first stay, I went to the male receptionist to ask if I could borrow a spoon. He replied, "Yes, sir, we'll bring it to your room." But the spoon never arrived until the next day of check-out.
