Luxurious new hotel and our room was very good , well equipped and spacious. The restaurants were also very good, whether for breakfast or for evening meals, the quality of the food served was excellent. The location was very good for us as we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of the sightseeing areas but within easy reach - we used Yandex which worked very well and very cheap ( 15,000 to 30,000 soms each way to the main tourist sights, railway, airport). We also prioritised modern facilities over traditional hotels but If you want a more authentic experience you may want to go elsewhere. During our stay we also used the restaurant/bar in a nearby hotel on the same site which was a short walk away which was good also. The staff were very friendly, but the service was a bit patchy. There looked as though there was still a lot of staff training going on and I’m sure this will improve with time. Our only other point is that the swimming pool was closed (pool has no water in) and we felt that we given the 5 star status we should have been advised of this. We had a very good stay and would have given 5/5 except that the price was a lot higher than other excellent hotels on our Uzbekistan trip so given the points we've raised the value was not as good.

I had a very pleasant stay at this property. It’s in excellent shape and everything is top class. Service might be slow at times but the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great experience.

Silk Road by Minyoun is a fantastic hotel! It is very Chinese in its design and theme which was really cool given Samarkand was the beast UNH heart of the Great Silk Road between China and Italy! Everything was top notch and the ate it is in is extremely convenient! I do have one criticism however, which is that the breakfast didn’t really cater to western tastes…there was no omelet station which is normally a given in any 5 star hotel…but over all a great experience!

Very nice hotel. Nice staff. At the check in we had some problems because although we ordered 2 luxurious suites they demanded extra charge of additional day for early check in. Also, there was a big convention at the hotel, so we couldn’t drink coffee at the public area. However, the rest of our stay was wonderful. We will definitely come back !
