The rooms weren’t really clean and the hotel was more like a motel. No one cleaned our rooms during our stay and also everything was extra money (even the bottle of water). However, the location was very convenient.

We spent only one night here and enjoyed. Our room was comfortable but sort of dark since there were no view windows. Super friendly woman named Darryl helped us when we checked out. She gave great recommendations and was helpful with us departing.

Right in the center of the gaslamp district. Really loved that everything was within walking distance.

The hotel is very clean and unique. It’s a pretty quiet hotel. I didn’t like that the hotel bar closed at 9. The rooftop access also closed at 9. The rooms are also very small so keep that in mind if you need your room n space. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed 3 nights and it was a $300 deposit. They also charge $65 a night for parking. If u don’t use their parking then u pay $60 a day for the public self parking. Walking distance to clubs, bars, comedy clubs, food options. The hotel also has a restaurant which also closes at 9. Our room had snacks n drinks for sale. There is a fridge but it was full of their drinks they offer u to buy. The worst part for us was the elevator. They are very old n take very long and at checkout it’s even worse. The beds n bedding were very comfortable.

I stayed in the king room, it was spacious for 2. The rooms and overall hotel is decorated cohesively. Staff is great! Text them for assistance and received instant replies. Only complaint our rooms AC did not work properly, it would get pretty warm at night because the windows don’t open. If you came to San Diego for a roadtrip or are renting a car, valet/overnight parking is provided. Purchased for the first night and was pretty pricey, so we decided to buy overnight parking with a parking garage, 3min walking distancing for $30 - 2 days. Overall, if I would redo my experience, I would request for a different room where the AC works and not pay for their overnight parking ($60 - 1 day).

The property is a renovation of a historic property so you have to be prepared for unique. The rooms are smaller, elevator older but works fantastic an nostalgic, decor is cool, rooftop amazing.

I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk service during my stay. One of the male staff members seemed to deliberately make things difficult for customers rather than helping them. His attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming, which negatively affected my overall impression of the hotel. Hospitality should begin at the front desk, but unfortunately, that was not the case here.

the hotel itself was great. the only issue we had was the parking. we paid $65 a night there. it’s supposed to be a secure parking structure and yet we found ourselves missing 2 pairs of expensive sunglasses. center console ransacked and randomly found articles of clothing that did not belong to myself or my boyfriend. the parking structure manager did give us a full refund and said we’d be comp-ed for the next time we do visit so we appreciate that.

This was our second stay and we enjoyed both visits. This trip we had a king suite which was great having a sitting room separate from the bedroom for a three night stay. Both rooms were spacious and well appointed. The sitting area as a sink as well as the bedroom which was convenient for two people getting ready or to use as a wet bar. Palihotel provides all the usual toiletries and well as bathrobes which we loved! The location is safe and clean, just several vacated properties nearby. The convenience of the Saint James French Diner, restaurant/bar, makes it nice to wander down for a cocktail or meal. Their happy hour is reasonable with delicious smash burgers for $10, a specialty cocktail of the day $8, select wines $6 or a select beer $4. We visited the rooftop deck which had a great 360° view of the city and allows you to bring your own beverages and food to enjoy. A few recommendations: one trash can in a suite is not enough; an additional trash can in a suite would be more convenient. The hallway doors and elevator gate can be noisy as they don’t have soft close hinges. The staff were alway welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We came for a quick overnight visit and it was very centrally located. We had a minor plumbing problem in our room and they moved us immediately which was so appreciated. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Rooftop terrace was great to hang out and relax (loved their music playlist!). We loved the architecture of the building. We will definitely be staying here again!
