Nice new hotel. The shower was well designed. Due to our schedule, we went to a coffee shop about a block away that opens at 7AM and across the street, Gabriel's cafe that opens at 8am, which was excellent.

Location is good. But one of the female front desk staff members checking us in was snarky. That was a disappointment. And considering the high cost of the room during peak tourist season, the room was barebones, like a basic motel room with no toothbrush or toothpaste. I encourage you to consider other hotels

High quality, modern hotel. Engaging and friendly staff. Great pool and hot tub. Definitely one of the best places to stay in local area. Will definitely be back again.

The place is new and clean and well maintained. The room’s comfort and style exceeded my expectations. Great bed, great shower. And super helpful staff.

Wait time to get checked in was over 1/2 hr. The line was out the door at 5:30.

Just wish the hot tub was bigger. We never got to use it as it was always being used. It can only hold 2 or 3 people

the hotel was quite nice, great bathroom, modern and clean, Feather pillows and the tv worked really well. Everything was fine except the staff at the front desk, all of them except one lady. It took forever to check in as they just seemed to stare at the screen, they did not seem fully versant in the English language, they had no idea of any places nearby, and hasselled me one night because my room key did not work. Wanted to see my ID, but the ID was locked in the room. I stayed there 5 nights and saw the front desk staff many times, yet they looked at me like I was an alien. NOT IMPRESSED! They should be fired or retrained. The bistro was fine, nothing fancy but the breakfasts were just fine, and the staff were friendly. It just seemed like one lady was doing everything. All in all, nice place, generally crappy front desk staff. Just my experience, maybe better next time.

Hotel overall was clean, modern, and spacious. The view from our room was beautiful as well. My family and I enjoyed our stay at Courtyard by Marriott in Nanaimo. I just wish they have free parking.

I liked the nice spacious rooms. The newness of the hotel. The located can't be beat. The parking across the street was actually fine and inexpensive. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The only thing I can criticize is the hand soap being very cheap and gummy!

I had purchased a bottle of water at the café in the hotel. Following that, I went into the kiosk to grab some potato chips. I realized within 30cm of walking in with the water bottle that the staff might think im purchasing the water from the kiosk, so I walked about and gave it to my wife before going back into the kiosk. I then went to the hotel front desk staff to pay for my potato chips, when the front desk worker (I have his name but won't mention for now) asked me about the water. I told him I purchased it from the café. He asked "are you sure? Because I saw you walk in and out with the water bottle". I told him I bought it from the café again and told him that he's welcome to check the hotel cameras to confirm. The café worker then told him that I indeed did purchase the water from the café. He then said okay and let me pay for the water. I didn't mind that he was doing his job and checking. But after asking me a second time, it did feel accusatory. He also did not apologize for pushing the inquiry about where I got the bottle of water from. I think an apology was necessary in that situation after low key accusing me. Didn't expect that from Marriott staff but anyways. Just wanted to say that that was quite disappointing.

We’ve stayed at quite a few Marriott properties over the years because of their consistently friendly staff, well-maintained hotels and great locations. The Courtyard by Marriott in Nanaimo continues to be one of our favourites and has become our go-to whenever we’re in the area. The staff are always welcoming, the property is clean and well cared for, and the location makes it easy to get wherever you need to go. Every stay has been comfortable and reliable, which is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Marriott.

We stayed here for one night in June, it was a great location - walking distance to the pier. The hotel got us checked in early even though we hadn't asked in advanced which was super nice from them! Great location, great hotel, perfect for a one night stay while travelling.

The property was nice, but the room was tiny. It’s clear that they cut corners when cleaning as the ledges in the bathroom were dusty, there was mildew at the base of the shower walls, and the bottom of the toilet was filthy where it meets the floor. We stayed in a Best Western the next night and the standards were clearly much higher there. Also the lack of breakfast for the price of that tiny, not overly clean room is pretty outrageous. Marriott is supposed to be a higher end hotel, but it seemed like it was all on the surface with the attention to detail completely disregarded
