Our room was in the very back next to the dumpsters and staff went in and out of that door the whole evening into the early morning. One ma was singing at the top of his lungs while taking the trash out. Hallways and room had NO carpeting everything echoed extremely loud. The shower sprayed out rust water for a good 2 minutes. Therefore we were not able to shower. There were no hangers in the makeshift closet area so we had to lay our clothes out on the countertops. Now to the FOOD …… best breakfast we’ve had in TJ. Compliments to the chef and wait staff in the dining room. Great location for upscale restaurants and entertainment as it’s just 2 blocks from an outdoor mall. Oh one more thing. The bed was ad hard as a rock if that is something you enjoy then it’s perfect. Sadly it left my back and neck super sore the next day. While walking down the hallways we peeked into open rooms and saw dirty old mattresses on the beds. Definitely will no be returning here and will advise friends to avoid as well.

Room was spacious. Wish the door had extra locks on the inside (there were none). Staff was friendly.

The place was over run by noisy, attendees, the door and windows were so thin , that it seemed people were inside my room. Never attending there again.... noise all night long. No fridge , no phone to call up front desk, to complain.

SUNIO CITY HOTEL TIJUANA – Honest Review (Couples & Families Please Read) Let me share my experience at Sunio City Hotel Tijuana, especially if you’re traveling as a couple or with family. We booked through Expedia and initially felt we got a great deal. I travel frequently for work—over 40 hotel nights a year—and I’m a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, so this review is not coming from a place of bias or unrealistic expectations (January 2026 stay). Who doesn’t like saving money, right? Unfortunately, in this case, it wasn’t worth it. Check-in took about 10 minutes, which was understandable due to ID verification for all guests. The lobby looked decent—nothing luxurious, but acceptable. That said, things quickly went downhill. The hotel uses physical keys instead of key cards, and the rooms have no phone or additional security lock, which immediately felt unsafe. The parking garage looks extremely dated, with low ceilings—be careful if you’re driving a larger vehicle. As we walked to our room, I noticed multiple people standing outside their rooms openly soliciting. This made me very uncomfortable, especially since I was traveling with my wife and two young kids. The hallways are tight, and at one point we passed around 10–15 men blocking the walkways. We appeared to be the only family on the property—major red flags. Not enough towels, asked for more and was given attitude. TV didn’t turn on, called the front and they said they would come help and never did. Not worth my money

The insulation was terrible, and the loud music kept me from sleeping. The engine room was very loud inside the room. The window faced the hallway and not the open air. The hallways were all wet and slippery due to the rain. Breakfast was only 1 food, and you didn't have any other choice; it wasn't a buffet

Sunio hotel was very nice. The continental breakfast that was included with the stay at the hotel was good. The breakfast included eggs with sausage, fried beans, chilaquiles and coffee. I would stay at Sunio Hotel agan in the future. Thank you.

Honestly, I was very concern because it was dirty and ac was broken , we have to go to the front desk to change rooms, so we got another room and ac broke too anyway, noisy as hell early in the morning, there is a church next door and they play music so early, like at 6:45 am till 9:00am no, no, no

The room only had 2 thin towels for 2 people which wasn't enough. There were cockroachs roaming the halls in front of my room door. No iron, fridge, working microwave in premiere room for a 3 star hotel? Shower head spray pattern was all over the place and it looked crusty. AC and TV worked fine. Pool was clean and the breakfast was good. Staff was nice and helpful. I wouldn't revisit honestly.
