The hotel has a cool whiskey boutique feel, but it seems like all of the time and money was spent on the design and the ball was dropped on a bunch of basic structural things and educating the staff.
I asked 3 different staff members (valet worker and 2 of the info desk workers) the price of the flat lot parking in order to determine if the valet price was worth it. Each person gave me a different price. Seems like that should be basic knowledge.
I then asked the check-in staff for the hours for the gym, and they had no clue. Mind you, besides the gym, the only other establishments with hours are the 2 restaurants. So, pretty basic.
The next morning, I wake up and head to the gym early, where the lights turned on as I walked in. I hopped on the treadmill, but 15 minutes into my run, the lights automatically turned off. Had to get off the treadmill to turn the lights back on, to which they turned off on me again 15 minutes later.
Then, I took a shower, and when I came out, due to the shower construction, the floor was flooded. Tried cleaning it up with towels, but there was too much water.
I went down to the front desk to inform of the gym and shower issues. They looked at me strange, and didn't even ask for my room number to help clean up the flooding - so I specifically asked that they did.
Next morning, the same issues occurred. I again told the front desk, to which I was given the same ambivalent response.
Really needs to work harder on the 'hospitality' aspects.
