Location was great, right on Maho beach and close to shops and restaurants. Other beaches accessible by foot or car. Resort staff friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic stay at the Royal Islander La Plage. The beach access and view from our balcony room was amazing, the property upkeep was top notch, and the staff was friendly and helpful at every turn. The room was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable and our stay couldn’t have been better! And be sure to eat at the Tortuga Maho restaurant on site - it has delicious options for breakfast, lunch and dinner! We will definitely return to this property!

Amazing hotel with wonderful friendly staff who doted on our 6 year old son.

This was our third time in St Maarten and our first time staying at the Royal Islander La Plage. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island again. The resort was so clean and beautiful. We loved the chairs overlooking the beach and the sparkling clean pool. There were a variety of extra activities available if you felt like it! Easy walking to numerous delicious restaurants. Quiet evenings sitting on our balcony. When our original flights were cancelled due to weather Nina and her staff worked with us to get rebooked. They were calm and oh so helpful! I can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to get back!

Great but no hot water

From beginning to end Nina and her team made us feel like family. Thank you🙂

Paid in advance significantly higher rate for balcony with ocean view, but when arrived was assigned a ground-level garden view room. Smirky check-in agent claimed hotel was full and that there was nothing she could do. Rate was not adjusted to the lower garden view rate. Typical bait and switch. Facility is quite dated and reminiscent of a Motel 6 on a nice beach.

Lite sleeper so the air conditioning was noisy for me

Grounds , landscaping and pool are beautiful, well maintained. Beach is of course very limited in that area, and a bit rough for swimming but beautiful . A lot of chairs, but like most hotels now, people reserve them and are nowhere to be found! No one monitors this Room are very outdated, with few electrical outlets , very basic bedding and pillows , but very clean. We were on ground floor and loved the gardens. Worst thing was our check in! One HOUR to clear up their mistake, with a very rude manager that seemed unhappy with her job! Good hotel when priced right. Loved all the cute cats . Bought food for them.

The hotel is great, nice rooms, great pool deck area, lots if restaurants very close by and grocery store across street but if staying on left side of lobby, the bar across the street stays open til 3 am on Saturday night and the noise is awful from crowds and motorcycles.
