Six of us, we were welcomed with refreshing drink when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and accomodating! However, when we checked in the villa, the villa was unexpectedly old and dusty and even the ground was not clean. There is a rubbish smell throughout the night and found out the next day that there is a rubbish dump just right next to the villa and the toilet also got clogged. We raised our concerns to the staff but he could not do anything for us because the booking was made via Traveloka. Hence we made a complaint to Traveloka but the customer support could only offer us a Rm30 voucher while the hotel fee was RM8XX per night. It was very frustrating and disappointing as the nearby hotels are booked out, we couldn’t book a new accommodation as well. We could only add on room at the hotel for 2 of us (which is the last available room and incur to us extra costs that the hotel refused to reimburse to us) while the rest of us continued the 2nd night at the villa. It was a first time to Lake Toba and we are unable to do anything as we are foreigner. Moreover, Traveloka is not helpful as compared to our experiences with Agoda and Airbnb with incompetent room. Not recommended to book through Traveloka and not recommend to stay at this villa Fjellro.
