Just got back from SM Tower Malioboro Yk. Stayed from March 30th until check out on April 2nd, 2025. The location is really good, after leaving the hotel, just take the route to the right of the hotel and walk straight, in less than 15 minutes you will reach Malioboro which is near the post office. On the left, right, and across there are also many depots/stalls (oseng, noodles, meatballs, gudeg, nasgor, coffee), shops (Circle K, Indomaret, Alfa), souvenir shops (bakpia). The hotel has an Islamic feel, but not just for Muslims. It's free. And what's fun is that there are many posters with Islamic verses or quotes in the hallways of the rooms. So, even though you're not a Muslim, be sure that those who visit the hotel are "right" people, not in the sense of discrediting the wrong people, but those who will stay there feel safe because of the religious atmosphere in the hotel. Even because it's Eid, the sound in the hallway at medium volume is takbiran. I don't know if it's for every day. For the garden, it's okay, it's small. For the rooftop cafe, it seemed closed yesterday. But at first glance I saw it, it was quite good. Not bad, you can read the books available while drinking coffee or maybe open your laptop. I took a room with 4 single beds. Comfortable. Wifi is smooth, watching Netflix is smooth. Every day like other hotels, it is also cleaned. The room is clean, the AC is cold, the hot water is okay. And for the price I got, around 1 million more for per night/4 beds/4 breakfasts/3 nights, it's very very very proper. For 3 days, breakfast there was always bread with jam/chocolate sprinkles/butter/peanut butter, and of course a toaster. Sliced fruits and salad. Fruit juice (alternating), infused water, mineral water, coffee, tea, rice kencur, turmeric and tamarind. Main course (white rice, fried rice, side dishes around 2 types, soup/soto, crackers), fried food, egg corner, stew, waffle, pudding, oven/boiled potatoes, fried/oven sausages, chicken porridge, traditional food (because it was Eid we got opor, gudeg, ketupat, and ubo rampene-alternating), 1 type of cake (alternating), milk plus cereal (2 types), sumsum porridge, pearl porridge. Obviously very proper. Moreover, a hotel in the city center that is quite close to Malioboro at a price of 1 million approaching peak season (regular seems less than 1 million. Peak season can be 2 million). The security guards are friendly although not very stiff, the parking lot is quite large (some are in the basement, some are in the hotel yard). Customer service is friendly, alert. The restaurant staff is friendly, polite, alert. I glanced at the lobby even though it is not spacious, there are small playground facilities, complimentary drinks, batik/souvenir corner. There are 2 elevators and they are smooth. In the room there is an electric kettle, coffee, tea, sugar and mineral water. If it's not enough, there are also large bottles of mineral water, and paid UMKM snacks). The interior of the room is okay. The sockets are okay. The cupboard is medium, enough for the 5 of us. Oh yeah, there are five of us (me, my mother and my 3 children), and the single bed fits my second and third high school-aged children. So I didn't add an extra bed, I only added the price of breakfast for 3 days. Standard shampoo, standard small soaps, 2 sandals, standard toothbrushes and toothpaste. Towels are okay (cleanliness, softness, size). The atmosphere is also not noisy even though it is near the highway. Everything I wrote can be summarized with the words: very very very highly recommended if you stay in Jogja...... (the review is the same as the one I wrote on Google)
