This is a hostel town so the quality of hotels is a bit tough. This is like out one of the better hotels but it is by no means a 3 star. I had to kill about 10 bugs in the room. There is no AC which would be fine but the windows don’t have screens so you choose between more bugs and a warm room. I chose warm room and still had plenty of ‘visitors’. The balcony door has no lock and there is no safe in the room. Honestly I think this is what is to be expected in this town so I don’t think there is anything fundamentally wrong with the place. Just be prepared for this experience or stay in a different town if you prefer more traditional hotel comforts. The host was wonderfully kind. If you want to stay in San Pedro then do give them a chance as they are likely one of the better places in the town. Definitely more of a 2 star experience.

Nice little hotel with a good breakfast. Rooms are clean and modern, more so than in other places in Guatemala. A bit of a walk to the center of San Pedro is the only downside. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Big comfortable bed, loved that they had filtered water available, clean place. Only problem is that we were charged more than what we were quoted. The hotel refused to give us change, and suddenly dropped the exchange rate on us. Tip- pay in Quetzales.

Basic accomodations, choose another place if available. We can late to town so only this place was available. We had to clean outvthe “suicide” shower heads in order to get water to flow, bathroom didn’t seem real clean, wastebaskets were full. Nice people but not impressed overall. It’s pretty cheap though.

DO NOT BOOK SHUTTLE SERVICE THROUGH HOTEL. We were totally ripped off, a "shared private car with one other couple at the hotel" turned out to be a multi-stop bus trip with a group of 12. A 2.5 hour ride ended up being 6 hours. At one point, when we were asked to get off the bus and wait an hour for another we said forget it and took an uber for the last hour. Wasted an entire day. Worst part was we had to pay cash so no refunds can come our way. The place is old and minimal, what you would expect for the price. Bathrooms were updated and beds were very comfortable.

The manager could not find our reservation, but has re-created one. Also, we were overcharged for both of the rooms. There was no one at the front desk when we got downstairs at 6:30am, and no one got in to the hotel until 8am. Also, the promised breakfast at 7am-7:30am was prepped for us only at 8:45am. The front desk lady was the highlight of the stay: she was very nice and the only one who apologized to us for the inconvenience: she was running trying to get the breakfast fixed for us, but the manager did not really accepted the feedback and still overcharged us for each room by about $10.00x2=$20.00 from the agreed price on the hotels.com. Our family would not stay here again :(

Good for the budget. The staff was very nice and helpful. We stayed there in the low season, and the restaurant was usually empty and didn't look very inviting, so we ate at one of the multiple good restaurants at a short walking distance. The location is close to everything in San Pedro. But not much is going on in San Pedro during a heavy rainstorm, so in hindsight we'd probably prefer to stay in San Marcos, which seems more pleasant and lively during the low season as people seem to stay there for longer periods.

Amazing stay!! We loved it very much. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The room is big and clean. The stay includes coffee and tea all day long (they even brought it to our room), fabulous breakfast, gym and jacuzzi all without extra charge.

Had a wonderful stay here, everyone from the owner to the ladies that cooked breakfast and took care of the rooms were very friendly, kind and always there to help. The area is safe to walk around at night plenty of restaurants near by and only a 10min walk from the boat taxis. Room as advertised, good price, great people :)

The location of the hotel was perfect for my boyfriend and I. The room was clean and located near lots of resturants and near one of the main streets in San Pedro. Next to the hotel was a pretty descent gym which as quest of the hotel we got to use the gym for free. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and complementary. I had pancakes, fresh orange jucie and eggs. But what I liked the most of my stay at El Delfin was the customer service provided by the owner. We couldnt make it to our reservationthe first night so he reimburse us half of the fee which he did not need to. Secondly he coordinated our 4am hike to Indian Nose (tour guide and transportation). And lastly I happen to have forgotten my brand new iPhone xs at the resturant located in the hotel after we had already checked out. I didnt realize it missing until the owner found us at a near by store. He had gone all the way to the docks trying to find us to return my phone. I would totally recommend staying here!

My friend and I stayed for two nights at El Delfin. We had an incredible stay and the staff went above and beyond to help us. The owner (I forget his name but his nickname is el Delfin) was a great host and very accommodating with our early morning departure. Also the included breakfast was delicious. I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in San Pedro.

The hotel is conveniently located in the lane that runs between San Pedro's two jetties. The area is peaceful and quiet at night and has plenty of eating places. The busier area near the main jetty is around a five-minute walk away. The owners and staff were very hospitable – friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable and the shower has hot water. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of options and good coffee. I would happily stay here again.

Upon checking into the hotel, my total bill was 7x more expensive than what was listed on my confirmation email. They were severely trying to overcharge me, and thankfully I had my confirmation email handy and showed him the proper amount. Without any questioning or explanation, he scratched out his super inflated price and wrote down the correct amount. The rooms were okay, but there were tiny bugs all over the bathroom. Also, the rooms were not very well sound proofed, so we could perfectly hear everything above, below and beside us, as well as outside our door. Breakfast was included, but I believe that was the cause of my food poisoning later that day :/

Excellent service, lovely rooms, incredibly clean and tidy, the only downside was the work bring done at the property but this couldn't be helped. The thing that stands out is the really friendly staff who are always smiling and kind.

The location was perfect and our room was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful booking tours and suggesting recommendations. We ate at the Dolphin Restaurant and it was one of the best meals we had in Guatemala. The only thing preventing me from giving an excellent rating was the inconvenience of the credit card machine not working. Other than than I would highly recommend to others.

Hotel appears to be new and is very clean. The bathroom and shower are spacious and clean. Our bathroom door was squeaking badly and they fixed it the next morning without a problem. The room can use more utility supplies like towel hangers which was actually a problem for our family of four. More shelves won't hurt as well. The biggest let down for us was the inactive restaurant. Upon check in they told us that we can have dinner at their restaurant but then they had to call the cook to come in and then told us that there won't be dinner. The next day the process repeated and eventually we were told that the restaurant is inactive nowadays. There are plenty of restaurants nearby but sometimes after a long day with toddlers even a short walk can be a drag. If you're not planning on spending too much time in the room, this is a fine hotel to stay at.

Out of center enough to actually be in quiet ! Could catch a tuk tuk or walk easily. We stayed 2 nights. Booked less than a week ahead all went smoothly. Staff was super accommodating.

Modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable! Fabulous staff. We stayed 4 nights. The hotel is located near bars, restaurants, and mini stores but is in a quiet area. Excellent food and great coffee. I highly recommend this hotel. There is also a modern gym next door that you can use for 25 quetzales.

I had a wonderful time staying at El Delfin. It is very clean, safe, good wifi, hot water, nice gym. It is in a convenient location, close to many restaurants and a quick walk down to the docks. The owner and his family were so friendly and accommodating and helpful with whatever day trips and travel arrangements I needed. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
