It’s a well run guest house in the center of Marvao. A real treat where you could not ask for more. The owners, who live not far , provide for all your needs. Make sure you ask for the tomato jam

Cute inn located in Marvao, an ancient fortified village perched atop a hill. Inviting public areas include a common lounge area with complementary port wine and a veranda with a beautiful view of the valley to the west (great for sunsets). Helpful and friendly host. Breakfast is included; you choose from a list of options the night before. Very convenient parking adjacent to the hotel, (once you enter the city gate, it's relatively easy to reach the hotel by car if you just follow the inside of the city wall). Good a/c. Free WiFi, though the signal inside the room was sometimes weak. Nice-sized bathroom, though towels were a little rough. There were several pillows, but I found them either too hard or too soft for my neck. I feel that the room could also benefit from additional lighting.

A blissful location in a fortress village perched on the edge of a steep cliff face, giving an excellent view for many miles. The accommodation is good and the host is very knowledgeable of the history and things to do and see in Marvao.

The Casa owners live nearby but meet you at the place, supply all necessary info on the house and village, and provide free breakfast next morning. There is ample free parking right beside the house. The house is on the edge of the cliff top village with amazing views from the terrace off the lounge. Very friendly and helpful. Great place.

Marvão is one of the highlights of our driving trip in Portugal and Spain and this awesome home-like stay in Casa da Avore added to the wonderful experience. The owner and wife were very friendly and welcoming and the room was great. The views from the common balcony is simply awesome, especially at sunset. With a small glass of port wine provided free by the owner, the feeling was quite indescribable. They only have 5 rooms and each differently furnished. Being in the walled city, you need to drive through narrow streets to reach the location. But once there, there is no problem with parking. Marvão can be seen in one day, but a 2 night stop at this place is recommended simply because of its tranquility. The free breakfast prepared by them was also good and we got to sit around a large table with all other guests. It was a nice way to chitchat and exchange experiences with guests coming from different countries. Very highly recommended!

Amazing views from hotel and surrounding town. Hotel was very nice; hosts were extremely friendly and tried to make us feel at home. It was very hot and there was a fan, no AC, in the room, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the place.

Maria and her husband made us extremely welcome. The accommodation was spotless and the views from the terrace, leading off from the living room, are stunning. The breakfasts were superb. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this little hotel to anyone visiting the unique village of Marvão.

The hotel was excellent. The owners were very welcoming and hospitable. The hotel felt more like a family home. Breakfast - which was excellent - was around one table where you could talk to the other guests. The rooms have amazing views over the valley and it is so central for all the restuarnats, cafes and places of interest. It is also good value for money.
