We stayed in the studio cottage. It is with good ambiance and very spacious unit with full stocked kitchen facilities. The sea view is excellent and all made our stay very pleasant. There was a recent ownership transition and check in was through a phone call. We booked another unit originally with welcome gift and that was changed and we only found out after checking in. The new owner called and apologised and promised some compensation but never heard again. There was no instruction on WiFi connection and eventually connected but didn’t work well. Stanley is unique place to visit and this cottage made it very walkable to all attractions easily.

Beautiful ocean views from the lounge and dining area (best thing I can say about this cottage) but old. You have to walk like a crab while bending over to get into bed in the main bedroom upstairs due to the low, angled ceiling. Shower cubicle was 2/3 normal shower size so very, very tight and uncomfortable for an adult. Owner forgot to send an SMS with check-in details, so we had to phone him. No answer but he phoned back quickly. There were no staff onsite. The cafe and gallery were shut. There was no one to help if you needed help. When I rang the owner the second time it was to ask about where I should find the “ample breakfast” that was promised on our booking. His reply was “We haven’t done that for awhile now and I thought that was taken off the listing but there was a computer glitch a few months ago and breakfast was listed”. Nothing was offered to us because “it was complimentary” he said. Chocolates were also promised on our booking, but they weren’t provided either. Port was promised on the booking too and it was available, however it was in a decanter, unlabelled and who knows what was actually in it. 10am checkout was strictly stated on a sign within the cottage. Late checkout incurs a $15 per 15 minute fee, so don’t check-out late!

Did about $1000 worth of damage to my car trying to get out of the parking spot allocated to our unit.

Its infested with spiders. I know its a cottage in a small town, but there are cabins in the woods that were built better than this. Gaps and cracks in the ceilings and walls. Terrible insulation and bugs everywhere. I dont want to deal with a giant spider the size of my palm crawling on me whilst im on holiday. It was so dusty and there were cobwebs everwhere. And the shower? you'll be looking up to see spiders all over the cealing too.

Touchwood Cottages was such a quaint place to stay and had a beautiful water view. The continental breakfast was lovely and there was more than enough food. The cottages are well appointed and are conveniently located within Stanley. The hosts are wonderful and cannot do enough

Charming cottage with a lovely view. Everything about the cottage was great. Its beautiful, homey and also stylish. The friendly hosts left a more than adequate breakfast, fruit in the fruit basket and even a port for us for bedtime. Everything is available if you want to cook, just bring along your dinner. bedding is good quality and we appreciated the electric blankets. Stanley is a lovely town with coffee shops, a hotel with a restaurant and a fresh sea food restaurant at the water side. We enjoyed our visit. We took the chair lift and walked on the NUT and we could have stayed another night. Perhaps the Hosts would rewrite the notice about charging $15 Australian for every 15 mins after 10am guests were late as it sounded a bit aggressive.

The Studio cottage was a unique and beautiful place to relax and chill out. Spotlessly clean, comfortable and very quiet setting. Owners had heaters on, supplied all essentials and left welcome treats for us. Highly recommended place to stay when in beautiful Stanley.

Great location in centre of town - walking to all restaurants, galleries and chairlift to the top of the Nut. Warm welcome with full explanation of all services available. Great cafe on site (range of approx $15 lunches) with excellent strong coffee. Provided breakfast included 3 types of cereals, two milks, juice, eggs, bread etc. Kitchen had full size stove and fridge/freezer. Spacious apartment on ground level, 'stressless' style chairs, large TV and DVD player. Firm bed. Large bathroom. Off street parking. Poor internet access in room - but available all hours near reception.
