We had a very nice stay. The hotel bar is very cosy and everyone was very nice.

Excellent walks for dogs. Room had very low ceiling and suffer from external noises from plumbing and water heater. The food at the restaurant was disappointing.

Easy to access from motorway. Good for overnight stop on long journey. The staff are welcoming, and speak good English. The restaurant is a destination for local people.

Fantastic place and very friendly staff!

The staff were all welcoming, spoke good English, and were able to anticipate our needs. Our standard room was spacious and clean, with the all the necessary facilities. There were, however, only the Belgian TV channels. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent - it was difficult to choose from the small menu! Breakfast was also good, more than enough for us. Check out was quick and easy. We would go back.

A hotel in the Ardennes with wonderful access to the small villages and outdoors. An auto is mandatory. Comfortable rooms with what is claimed to be a three star restaurant which we missed as we neglected to make a reservation. The staff made no effort to alert us and we found disappointing. All features were modern and current. Moderate price for what you got.

Oh dear, what a disappointment. This is our second stay at La Barrière having stayed here last week on our way to France. Then we had a fantastic meal in their surperb restaurant. This time the restaurant is CLOSED. Closed on Sundays and Mondays! A hotel with no restaurant!! Worse, all the other restaurants in the area, even attached to a hotel, are also closed! The whole area is closed for food the same two nights a week. Ended up getting bread and cheese from a Spar shop 6km away. Still a great hotel to stay at, just not on a Sunday or Monday night. BE WARNED!!

Great hotel and a bit of a surprise. It's literally in the middle of nowhere (but not far off of the E411). Super rooms, very clean and modern but with some style of their own. Then there is the restaurant! FANTASTIC. It's worth going here just to have a meal! Returning to stay here in a few days time, on our return trip to the UK, and can't wait to try it again. Breakfast not bad either.

The hotel is a gem. The surrounding region of this part of Belgium is beautiful countryside, with La Barrière de Transinne is well situated. La Barrière de Transinne's staff offered a warm friendly welcome into this tastefully decorated and stylishly furnished hotel. Our large room had a massive double bed with space for table chairs and arm chairs and a separate children's room that was cosy and comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower and dressing gowns for all of us, including a small one for our child. The room was clean and very comfortable with free wifi throughout the hotel and a lift to all floors. The dining room is large and again comfortable with the dining tables are nicely spaced out. We could see the chefs preparing and cooking our food freshly for us, this did not impose on the ambiance of the room. The waiting staff are impeccable and friendly. Breakfast is continental style, with freshly squeezed juice and freshly baked bread. Evening menu is excellent and locals come to eat here. Fresh produce, deliciously cooked and well presented. The hotel lounge is comfortable and relaxing, with a log fire and discreet waiters. As you can gather, we like La Barrière de Transinne. We stayed an extra couple of days. Be prepared to speak French, as not much English is spoken.

Mooie ruime kamer en prima ontbijt

Wij vroegen een kamer waarin het rustig zou zijn, en die hebben we ook gekregen. Niks last gehad van lawaai. Ruime kamer, maar wat ik niet zo leuk vind, is het vast tapijt en de lap die achter op het bed ligt waar veel stof kan intrekken. Voor de rest zeker oké.

Très propre, très beau, chambre spacieuse, en plein coeur des Ardennes. Par contre, le petit déjeuner a un rapport qualité-prix moyen. Bons produits, mais choix restreint par rapport au prix (15 €/personnes) De plus, nous avons dû attendre 20 minutes pour avoir du pain, car ils étaient à court, et il fallait attendre qu'un nouveau soit cuit. Le pain a été cuit enfin à 10h00, après 20 minutes d'attentes, et à 10h05 ils remballaient tous le petit déjeuner => c'est le seul b-mol.

Ontbijt is ondermaats. Personeel totaal niet gemotiveerd.

Très agréable "séjour" (une seule nuit),maistout était très bien...sauf que j'avais omis de réserver une table pour le soir,et que le restaurant de l'hôtel était complet.Nous avons été souper de l'autre côté de la grand'route ! On reviendra...à labelle saison!
