We very much enjoyed our stay at shining waters country inn. Its close to all of the cavendish attractions. But i suggest you come between june and august as most of the stuff beaides the anne of green gables house is closed. The jacuzzi tub was great though and it a charming little inn.

We had a pleasant overnight stay in the autumn off-season. Our room and the Inn were very quiet, especially with few other guests. It is an old building with some oddities of slightly sloping/uneven floors. However, this just gave it more character and it seems to fit very well with the Green Gables history of the Cavendish area. It was extremely convenient to get to all the places we wanted to visit in the area. The person at the desk was also very helpful answering a couple questions we had.

The facility itself is fantastic - our room in the Gate House was large and we enjoyed the jet tub. Super helpful to have a laundromat onsite for mid-vacation laundry. The massive drawback for this place is their breakfast. It’s actually not the food itself (which for the most part is old/stale - you can tell they were soon going to close for the season) but mostly that it could be exponentially better if they would monitor the breakfast room - frequently out of items and unless you go find someone to help, you’re out of luck. Jessica was the highlight here -

We loved staying here because it is so very close to the heart of all the Green Gables/Montgomery places and the beautiful beach! The house looks like Rachael Lynde's house on the outside; beautiful and so very Avonlea! The lady who checked us in was wonderful and kind. Beds were good, room super clean. I do have one thing I'd like to address: we were excited for breakfast and unfortunately the staff never came to replenish anything, even at the very beginning of the breakfast time. My friend came downstairs a half hour into breakfast to find one piece of bacon, some scrambled eggs and all the hot things gone. We enjoyed the muffins and the other none hot items but it was a bit disappointing and odd that no one ever came to replenish anything the entire hour that we sat downstairs, drinking tea and talking. I would suggest a bit more attention to breakfast. Other than that, we loved our stay and would stay again

We needed to leave extra early in the morning. The front desk team put together a “take away“ bag of fruits, muffins, juice, etc., so we would have the benefit of our breakfast included, even though we had to leave before breakfast began. Very accommodating!

The property was located to the green gables house and although I arrived late the was a lady in reception to greet me. She said that there was tea, coffee and biscuits in the lounge, but unfortunately there was no milk, so I didn't manage a drink as no facilities in the room for drink making. Further to that the breakfast from 8:00 wasnt available till 8:45 as staff overslept. Apart from that the stay was fine for 1 night.

Cottage style property quite dated but clean. We were put in a second floor room up a steep staircase. Staff showed up late to serve the breakfast causing some guests to leave prematurely.

The property is in need of some TLC. It is a great location so it seems a shame to not keep it up. As far as the breakfast goes, the quality was adequate but the staff did not replenish items as they we were used so it was very hit and miss…for example no bread items to go with the eggs and ham.

There's a path to Prince Edward Island National Park and the ocean right from the hotel. It's a short walk to get there.

We enjoyed our stay at Shining Waters Country Inn. Our room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable, however the room had a strange smell. I know it's an old inn...it smelled like stale cigarette smoke, I am guessing from when people were allowed to smoke anywhere. Other than that it was great :)
