The hotel has NO FREE PARKING. They have 5 parking spots total for 23 rooms. We were lucky to park twice in front of the hotel (there are 2 spots) and never at the back (3 spots), we had to pay for the parking all other time (we stayed 5 nights). The manager guy (I guess, the owner) was rude about the parking and the coffee machine in the lobby which was turned off on Sunday ?? Our room with 3 beds and a balcony was nice.

Well, we liked Walter, once we warmed to him. The rest of the staff very nice and helpful. The breakfast was best i have ever had except for a small hotel in Campa Nova Brazil. The recommendations from Walter fir dinning and sightseeing were excellent.

Hotel Ambassador in Solothurn has a small town charm and great location on a quiet street only 3 min. walking distance from the railway station. It is also conveniently near the river and bridges that lead you into the historic old town.

The hotel was very clean. The staff was extremely nice & welcoming. The check-in kiosk outside the entrance was hard to navigate, but luckily the employere was nice & opened the door for us. There is a separate key for the room & the hotel entrance. All keys are on display for all rooms & you have to insert one key to get the other (you only get 1 key at a time.. either room or hotel door). They should update to a card system like most other hotels. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel & Solothurn has a lot to offer.

I couldn't sleep well: 1) the curtains were not dark/thick enough, so at 5.50 the first sun light came into the room waking me up; 2) and to make it worse, every time someone used the bathroom or the shower or the sink (not sure which one it was) in another room you heard the water going down the pipelines quite loudly, so quite a bad night. The owner was super nice and friendly.

Nice niche hotel. No A/C. Did not care for the login machine on the outside to get your key; I would rather meet directly with the person at the front desk. For after hours help, this would be fine but not just to replace the person at the front desk.

An old style and charming hotel with friendly staff. This may not be your cup of tea if you need all the modern conveniences but it served me well for my one night stay on a business trip.

Further from Bern than we thought but so pleased we found it, the staff were so helpful and friendly. The room looked newly decorated, bathroom satisfactory and beds really comfortable. Breakfast was the best continental we’d had, loads of cereal choice plus some homemade. Boiled eggs had been dyed bright colours, would stay again.Didnt see much of town had a struggle to get something to eat as it was Sunday

The staff is lovely and very helpful while the hotel is very conveniently located to the main train station and the old town. It is near to the main roads but the noise is surprisingly low, especially later in the evening as the road noise drops considerably. the bed was not the most comfortable but not bad and most importantly it is clean with a great staff. I would certainly stay here again for business or pleasure.

The hotel itself is nice and cozy. The free breakfast was simple and tasty. But the best part of my stay was the hotel staff. Absolutely amazing!!

Well, I'd like to start with the only good thing about this hotel - the service. The staff is very nice and helpful and this was my only ray of light. The four star ranking is simply a lie - the hotel is definetly not ranked that high, there're no facilities, the rooms are small and poor and there is no lobby. The "Free Parking" is also not true - there're only 2 parking spaces that belong to the hotel and they're occupied by the staff, moreover, the closest parking isn't free and a 10 min. walk from the hotel. Due to the fact that the hotel is close to the Train Station - it is very noisy during the nights due to the noisy tram and people. The promised breakfest is also VERY poor and you defintly should buy something on your way to work/travel. A the end - I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel, you can find a much better hotel for the same price.

Well, I do have to start with the only good thing in this hotel - the service. The workers are nice and helpful but unfortunately that was my only ray of light. The hotel is definitely not a 4 (or even a 3) stars hotel - there are NO facilities of any kind in the hotel and the rooms are small and poor. The "Free" parking that is mentioned in so many places is a 2 places parking for a 23 rooms hotel and staff - the closest (non-free) parking is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast is very poor so don't really count on it and buy some of your own. In conclusion - this hotel uses false advertising and you should keep it in mind when booking.

It was fine, just much smaller than I expected. This is more of a guest house than a hotel (e.g. the iron and ironing board are on the landing in the stairwell, not in the rooms; there are no wash cloths in the bathrooms, and the rooms are tiny). It was all I needed for a business trip, but very small and would have been too small for two people, even a couple.
