Receptionist is never at the desk. Worst check in experience ever, was never told by the hotel that there is no receptionist on Sundays after a certain time (I even confirmed my stay via email and nothing was mentioned about self check in) and after a long flight we got to the hotel and the doors of the hotel were locked. We had to go across the street with our luggage to call the hotels emergency number at the neighbouring hotel. Found a dried up contact lens on the floor of the hotel room when we came in, everything was dusty and looked overall dirty. Avoid this hotel at all costs if ur a clean person and want good customer service. It gave more of a hostel vibe rather than hotel.

Great staffing

Parking would have been good across the street from hotel but it was closed due to Ironman competition. Not the fault of facility but wish we had known before booking. Toilet was broken and continually ran. Bus stop in front of hotel on busy street so unite noisy. Will not return.

Nice hotel with a good breakfast

In albergo dove in tre abbiamo speso 300 Euro per notte mi sembra tanto per avere una piccola stanza senza aria condizionata e 3 brandine che l´ultima volta che ho dormito sopra una cosa cosí era durante la naia.

Alpha Thun was a pleasant surprise. Our original booking of a different hotel in Interlaken was cancelled on us by the hotel and we scrambled to find another and this is what we found in Thun. The hotel is right next to the Strandbad bus stop, making it convenient to travel using bus. The room was clean, quaint, spacious enough, and decent looking. The hotel restaurant was great. The food selection was great. Our server, Pao, offered a few great suggestions for Schilthorn and the hiking areas around Murren and Gimmelwald. Since we love hiking, we followed her suggestions.

No toaster and no scrambled eggs but overall very good

I was in the third floor and the elevator reaches only up to the second floor. The room itself was very small with a slanted ceiling.

very friendly staff - a lovely place to stay. although a little out of town this helps with parking and there is a regular efficient bus service to the centre, a free bus pass is even provided

This hotel runs with minimal staff and the check in closes at 8pm. You will need your smart phone to either access instructions sent by e-mail if you don't arrive by 8pm or to call the emergency number for instructions on how to get in the building and get your room key. Room was fine, functionally furnished and clean. A cold buffet breakfast is available.

Good clean and friendly hotel with bus stop at the door for easy access to town. Only gripe no toaster at breakfast

This little gem of a hotel truly exceeded our expectations. The staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful, the hospitality area with free coffee and cold drinks was much appreciated after a long drive. The room was comfortable and well equipped and breakfast was varied and good quality. They even gave us a free pass for the local bus into Thun. We had a really enjoyable stay in Thun, largely down to the Alpha Thun hotel and if and when we return we would not hesitate to use this hotel again ...well done guys !

1) Unlike other Swiss hotels, City Tax paid during booking (charged direct by the hotel) 2) hair dryer kept out of sight (high above bathroom mirror top ledge) so we decided to use ours 3) 2nd night shower foam liquid only enough for one person so we have to use ours ! 4) 2nd night the tissue box was empty so we have to use ours !

no experience to report,,it was a very quick stay..the hotel is a bit far from centre and one would need a car to get to it

The hotel staff at reception and the service at dinner was first class. The breakfast was disappointing in that the buffet had not been topped up and therefore, it was a question of choosing from the left overs. The server at breakfast was simple not interested and a smile was lacking and even had to seek he out to get some more tea and coffee. It was a great shame which spoiled to good work done by other staff.

Overall good experience.... the room we booked happened to be in top floor/attic with a slanted ceiling and a bathroom shared with 4 other rooms, which was a bit awkward (regular room with full ceiling and bath is $50 more), but otherwise the hotel was fine just for sleeping after long days of sightseeing. They provide a great breakfast and a discount card for local attractions, which worked out very well for our stay. Location is very quiet and safe, paid city parking across the street ($4/24hr).

Easily access to Thun station by bus. Good breakfast.

once u check-in, room on 3rd floor (actually, it's on 4th floor's stairs climbing in Swiss), 1st bad impression, elevator is broken and no repairs. Man.. not happy with my luggage. Then, u find out wifi is only on lobby (ground level), need climb up and down, just to google some direction and info etc.. not fun.. lastly, our room is on edge/slope side of the big building, hence I bump my end twice to the side at room and I'm only 5'8". No telephone in the room, so u can't get help in case of emergency. No water in the room neither. regarding the door key, once u lock it from outside, u can't open it from inside neither. it's bad if parents didn't know such and leave kid sleep inside the room and screaming for good. The only thing plus is the breakfast and staff does smile at you.
